I'm looking for some really winter warm thick balck tghts where the material doesn't go more see-through on your thighs (I have somwhat large thighs!)

Any ideas please?

Heist are brilliant but expensive...they are also so comfy!

Snag tights I find feel cheap and the colour is rubbish!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 24/01/2020 16:08

White stuff patty plain tights are good.

Hellokitty82 · 24/01/2020 16:09

I always go to good old M&S or John Lewis.

I NEVER do cheap tights 😂

Rosere · 24/01/2020 17:07

Tesco knitted ones are great but size up, the waist band is tighter than other brands.

Teacaketotty · 24/01/2020 17:08

Second the Tesco recommendation they are great but definitely size up

lisag1969 · 24/01/2020 20:36

Snag tights are great perfect fit no knitted ones, but 80 denier are very warm x

Justajot · 24/01/2020 21:45

I really like Snag ones and they aren't too expensive.

Elouera · 24/01/2020 21:49

Have you tried plus size ones, or even just leggings? Are you covering your thighs or will they be on display in the tights?

TheClitterati · 24/01/2020 22:59

I'm a snag fan too

loutypips · 24/01/2020 23:04

I'm super fussy with tights. Can't wear regular tights as I get too hot, so stick with stockings. But for the thick winter tights the only ones I've found that work well and fit my chubby legs without too much stretch are primark bamboo tights. The bamboo is soft and doesn't give me a sweaty bum.

Popuppippa · 24/01/2020 23:09

Falke - I have 2 pairs that are 10 years old and I'm not kidding. Expensive but they still look good as new.

I also have some M&S Limited Collection ones that are smooth opaques and a bit silkier.

Hobbs do good quality tights too.

BellatrixLestat · 24/01/2020 23:13

Snag here too.

Would never buy another brand now!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 25/01/2020 08:30

Snag here too. I'm wearing two year old ones that look as good as new absolutely worth the extra couple of pounds to buy them.

WateryFowls · 25/01/2020 08:33

Snag. I'm a recent convert having recently worn my first dress/skirt in 30 years.

sweetheart · 31/01/2020 14:07

I'm about a size 12 on the bottom but a pear so pretty mahoosive thighs / bottom. Normal tights fit fine but the stretch always makes them go quite see-thru on my thighs. I will be wearing a short ish skirt so would like the tights to be as dark as the are on my calves.

Definitely snag. X

CherryPavlova · 06/02/2020 23:41

I moved from Heist to Snag. They are excellent quality and the 80 denier are very warm and truly opaque.
Some lovely colours too.
