Cocktail ring - where find one?

EnormousBlisterPack · 24/01/2020 13:14

My birthday is coming up & I'd really like one of those big cocktail rings that would fit my first finger. I've done the usual google but can't find anything that appeals.

I like yellow or rose gold, like blue or purple stones. Thinking maybe a rectangle?
Basically Jen on Cold Feet was wearing a green ring the other night that would've been perfect if anyone watched!!

Budget £150-200

QVC

Thinkle · 24/01/2020 15:46

Etsy is great for this kind of thing

Alsoco · 24/01/2020 15:50

I read this very wrong when skim reading the active threads titles

SageRosemary · 24/01/2020 15:52

Was going to suggest QVC too, ratings give a good guide

I've had a look at QVC & didn't see anything quite right.

#SageRosemary I'm after something quite a bit bigger than that, it's possibly more costume jewellery ....

Try neola. I got a really lovely one there for Christmas that sounds like the one you described.

Helpmyself · 24/01/2020 17:06

Swarovski? In amongst the daintier more traditional rings they do some gorgeous cocktail rings. I like the Nirvana ones. Might be worth a look.

Ebay is brilliant for this kind of thing - vintage cocktail rings are gorgeous. I’ve bought 1980s YSL and Chanel this way and they were so cheap I’m not fussed if they’re not authentic.

Pippa Small does the most incredible cocktail rings - a colleague has the Tibetan - but you’ll need an extra zero on your budget🤢

Auctions!! Just be mindful of whatever fees the auctioneer is going to charge, can hike up your offer a bit, but there's always wiggle room if they don't sell by the close. Could only see amethyst today in or around your price range.

Try Swarovski. Saw this while looking for necklaces. It's a bit different. www.swarovski.com/en_GB-GB/p-M5449468/Magnetized-Cocktail-Ring-Multi-coloured/?color=color-dark-multi

Try searching for a labradorite stone, you might like it

Feelingpoorlysick · 24/01/2020 18:27

Monica vinader have some lovely rings. Not sure if large enough for what you want though.

Imonlymoominafterall · 24/01/2020 18:33

I think you need to look at vintage rings - have you got a local antiques market?

totallyradllama · 24/01/2020 18:35

Carrie Elizabeth Jewellery?

EnormousBlisterPack · 25/01/2020 09:14

Great suggestions thanks!

#camsie there are some lovely rings on Neola. I think there's a couple of stacking rings that may get to what I'm after.

I'm definitely going to go & try on the Nirvana ring at Swarovski, it's the size I'm looking for.

I wouldn't spend much buying something on EBay, nothing came up on my search so far but I'll keep checking it in. I don't know of any proper antiques markets so I'll have to look that up.

Thanks downlow, I do have a couple of things from there already but they don't have quite what I'm after.

The Tarot Magic ring by Swarovski is a stunner!

BubblesBuddy · 27/01/2020 08:36

Definitely what a cocktail ring should look like!

EnormousBlisterPack · 27/01/2020 22:13

I like that BubblesBuddy but I've come across this one.

Love the look of it. Might just order it to try out

What about the Yves Saint Laurent Arty cocktail rings? Lots of different stone colours available, I've lusted after a turquoise one for years

honeylou42 · 28/01/2020 07:16

Daniella Draper have some beautiful ones, maybe a tad over budget but worth a look Smile
