What to wear to a gig?

I go to see a lot of bands but its usually in stadiums or arenas. This up and coming in gig is in the Jazz Cafe in Camden. Is that a cool venue? I'm not cool!! I want to be comfy and not wear something that could potentially end up ruined with spilled drinks. So I dont have a clue what to wear!! I dont really have a certain style either. I have a white tshirt with embellished sleeves and I was thinking of that with jeans and Supergas?

Ooh, I haven’t been there for a while, I used to enjoy seeing live music there. I don’t know if it’s changed much but I remember it as fairly small, I’d wear pretty much what I’d wear to a nice pub (as opposed to my scruffy local) and comfortable footwear always and a crossbody bag to keep my hands free and not worry about my belongings.

Who are you seeing? The style of band might make a difference I guess.

It's a guy called Kelly Finnigan. He plays soul and funk. Definitely using a cross over bag. We're coming down from Glasgow for it so need to really be sure of what to wear as I'll be taking hand luggage only.

I’m not actually sure you can wear jeans there but I don’t know how strict they are, the FAQs say black jeans are ok so you probably should play safe and you’ll want to dance so comfortable is a must. . It always a quite civilised place when I used to go, couple of drinks, a meal then music. It was never an intimidatingly hip kind of place, nice but not scary cool. I always felt perfectly at home and I’m not cool!

Oh sugar!! My partner only wears jeans! I'll need to let him know. I didn't even think of a dress code tbh. Time to rethink what to wear. I like places that aren't scary cool!

Actually you might want to check that with a quick call or via Facebook I just realised it’s the jazz cafe Reading with a dress code. Camden doesn’t say. Doh! Probably still worth checking

Aww i looked up the same website after you mentioned a dress code and didn't notice either it was Reading! Ok well I'll drop them an email but think ill wear black jeans and this top (with a slip under it!) And flat pointed black boots. Comfy but not casual (my kitten was checking it out!)
