Facial fake tan that doesn't look orange

I recently bought the Tan-Luxe face self-tan drops in the light/medium shade. The problem I'm finding is that the drops leave me looking a bit orange. It's not ridiculous, but gives that "definitely fake tan" look whereas I'm on the hunt for something that looks like it could feasibly be my natural skin colour.

Can anyone recommend a product? I'm very pale with cool undertones, and looking for something that makes me look slightly more alive, rather than a 2 month holiday in the Caribbean type darkness. Bonus points if it's drops as I really like being able to control the amount.

Thanks!

I rate the Clarins drops but I'm olive skinned. One drop alternative days gives me a healthy glow rather than a tan.
Are you sure you're not overdoing it?

I second the clarins drops. Couple of drops every 2nd day for me. I'm very pale.

I really like the Tropic skincare one (not a rep). I'm pale and I mix a couple of drops with my moisturiser and it looks really natural.

Skinny tan - love it!

Thanks all. I don't think it's a problem with my application as I've tried various ways of applying, different numbers of drops etc. I'll probably keep on playing around with it a bit just because I spent £15 on the stuff!

Going to have a look into everything suggested, thanks again for all the recommendations :)
