Boob or bust and qu about band size

Thanks to some mners on s&b, I re-measured myself according to the boob or bust website, dropped down a band size and up 2 cup sizes (32b to 30d). The bras are definitely a better fit.

However, after a day of wearing one of my new bras, I was really uncomfortable. The bra left me with marks around my chest and back and I was desperate to undo it by the end of the day. This can't be right, surely?! I've measured and re-measured and I am def 30ins under the bust.

What is the answer? I wondered about a bra extender (I used them when I was pregnant) but if a new bra is a good fit then surely that shouldn't be necessary, right?

They do advise they're just a guide, I measure as a 30H with them but find It far too tight, 32G is perfect.

Can depend on the bra and how stretchy it goes. One bra I like I wear an extend for the first few wears, once it’s stretched a bit it’s much better. Some marks are fine (like those you get from socks) but it shouldn’t be really uncomfortable

Thanks all. I'm going to get a couple of extenders. I tried on a whole load of new bras in my old size (32b) and they all gape at the cup and don't sit nicely under my clothes. Plus I can easily fasten them on the tightest hook and feel like I could even pull them tighter. I think I need a 31D, where can I get one of those?!

Depends on the brand and style of bra.
I find some absolutely brutal.
Some are tight in the band so you need to size up and some are loose in the band.
Personally I find Bravissimo bras (their own brand styles) the best, most comfortable fit for me. But it's still a relief to take off my bra at the end of the day!

I think if you're a smaller band size there's less fat around the rib cage so the tighter fit bras can be uncomfortable. I measure a 30 but I prefer a 32 just for comfort.

some brands fit smaller. Some styles fit differently. Some bras are just uncomfortable. Some need to be worn in.

check out some long-line options, they have a wide band, so don't cut in the same way.
