Tummy Tuck Scars - would you show me?

I’ve had the initial consultation and am probably going to go ahead.
I am 8st, very fit, sporty, toned, Apart from having had two 11lb daughters. And my tummy is a train wreck. A decade of Pilates, core conditioning, all the trieds and testeds, I’m close to going ahead. I’d just like to see some more scars and your opinions, as, like any cosmetic surgery the negatives need to be contemplated and weighed up I guess.

Ooh watching with interest.

8st9 with a train wreck tummy, Pilates 4 times a week. I’ve lost 4.5 stone last year and the state of my stomach makes me want to cry.

Chicinwellies · 21/01/2020 22:45

Oh. I’m the same. But sympathy is limited from those who see me clothed. I look and am super fit. I run marathons. My skin and hair is good. I have nice clothes. I’d trade it all in a heartbeat if I could say goodbye to the wrinkles, skin and excess tummy. I love my daughters to the moon and back, but battle scars I don’t embrace .

Also watching! Have had two big babies in the last 3 years and lost a lot of weight since. But actually, the more weight I lose, the worse my stomach looks. It's fine when I have clothes on, but I live in a hot country and spend a lot of time in swimwear. I would love to wear a bikini again.

desperatesux · 22/01/2020 10:48

Tracy anderson mat floor ab workout, it takes about 5 minutes but you need to do it every day. Its all about bringing the skin back in. I had v big babies and again v slim build and my stomach looks like a teenagers now and I too did reformer pilates etc, nothing has worked like this, its incredible. I don't think it is a cure all but it will help while you decide what to do re surgery. You need to watch it a few times before you do it and she moves v quickly . Another one was Mothers special blend, I gave it to a friend who had horrendous stretch marks and it made a massive difference. It stinks though and is like cooking oil

Chicinwellies · 22/01/2020 22:43

Desperatesux thank you, much appreciated. I have literally done a huge amount of core work in a decade, but v keen to take a look at the Tracy A workout. Do you have a link at all, will google. Thanks again x

I had a mini tuck so not a full one as I didn’t have a lot of lose skin just a small pouch where the c - section was
So my scar is actually my C-Section Scar but about 2 inches longer
The scar is really low and it’s been around 10 years now so it’s not noticeable
The scarring really depends on if they have to give you a new belly button then you obviously get more scaring
Mine wasn’t so no major scarring
My stomach is very flat as I had the stomach muscles tightened back up as well

Lardlizard · 23/01/2020 07:58

It’s just me was it expensive and are you glad you did it ?

desperatesux · 23/01/2020 11:26

This is it vimeo.com/groups/282875/videos/94448722

its 48 mins in. I did reformer for a year at least 5 times a week and this made more difference (looks wise) to my stomach in 2/3 weeks. I had loose skin which is gone but I was not tummy tuck territory though. I don't think it will hurt though and worth a shot. You should notice a difference in 2/3 weeks. I had definition - and skin taunt in about 4-6. Good luck !

Chicinwellies · 23/01/2020 12:58

Wow. Thank you so much. I will report back x !

I think this is going to be my problem too. Two babies, both small but c section seems to have fucked it! Plus I’m in the process of loosing about 3.5 st to be healthy. I think it’s going to be a real shit show when I’m done Sad Am going to try that Tracey A though thanks @desperatesux

@Itsjustmee, that’s the tuck I’d be getting if I needed it. What is the recovery like and how expensive was it if you don’t mind me asking?

Chicinwellies · 23/01/2020 15:39

It's really hard isn't it, so many factors.
And so many people who judge without compassion.
I could afford it. But, putting yourself through the risk of general anaesthetic, risks just of the op alone, sepsis, etc, to not consider these things would be foolish. Is it selfish? Maybe. Is it wrong? Not for many. Selfishly my main concern is the scarring, that it could leave me as paranoid about baring all as my current situation. I also know the recovery afterwards is slow, and being dependent on others for this reason may be a hard pill for some to swallow.
I'm going to do the TA workout for 3 months, 90 days to be honest, and if I'm not happy then to at least be seen getting changed, then I'm in.
I don't think we should judge anyone else, but hopefully we can all share experiences and advice x

I can't show you any but I used to be a nurse in a cosmetic surgery clinic and the scars are quite big and long tbh. Hip to hip and very noticeable. Not under underwear/bikini but definitely naked. Every single patient though said they'd take it over the belly anyday!

desperatesux · 23/01/2020 16:45

Yeah if it doesn't work, nothing exercise wise will make a difference so at least you know you have tried everything before opting for surgery. I gave it to a guy in work who lost 6 stone and it made a massive difference to him but again his skin wouldn't have been bad enough for a tummy tuck so not sure what the point of no return is.

In terms of the skin condition get Biologique Recherche P50 for body. I use the face version and my friend uses both and said it zapped her stretchmarks, or at least made the almost invisible to the naked eye. it is expensive but certainly worth it. All their products are incredible but v v expensive but I look younger now than I did 10 years ago. I don't have good skin naturally

puds11 · 26/01/2020 18:15

@desperatesux where do you buy the biologique from?

Chicinwellies · 28/01/2020 11:24

Ok perfect thank you x would you send a lotion link?

I used to be a Nurse and saw quit a few tummy tucks or Abdominoplasty .There is or was always a very long scar from hip to hip and in most cases the belly button is placed higher. We had one woman sue the hospital or doctor because she had to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes as her figure changed completely or so she said .Many think it is just a small operation and we often had patients coming in for a Ceasarian Section who thought it would be great to have a 2in1 operation ie Caesarian and abdominoplasty.Needless to say due to the risks this 'wish 'was never granted.

Chicinwellies · 28/01/2020 13:10

So useful, thank you. Just the experienced feedback - thoughts I was after.

@Chicinwellies I know this is old but can you tell me if that exercise video helped. I’m in the same predicament. Currently on the bus in my way back from the gym knowing that my lower belly isn’t going to improve with exercise. Im considering a mini tuck.
