How do you remove the top of a vintage perfume bottle?

The perfume can't be used until this gold top has been removed (it's a splash bottle). I've no idea how to do this. Can it be done without any specialist equipment?

Dont you just splash the fragrance out the top ?

If it's vintage it's probably gone off. I'd just use it as a decoration.

Could you try a bottle opener or use scissors to flip it off? How old is the bottle out of interest?

bingbangbing · 21/01/2020 19:52

Why do you want to open it?

Will it pull off if you get a damp cloth to hold it.

Can you stab a pin in it?

A nut cracker and twist/pull.

I managed to do it. It doesn't have a bar code on it, so it would be eighties or older.

Does it still smell good?
