Does such a thing exist, mascara that lengthens without....

I'm looking for a mascara that will lengthen without adding volume. Everything I've tried is too thick, clumpy and false looking.

I have very thick lashes and lots of them. So I feel I need something that adds length and definition.

Any recommendations? thank you

You don't comment on budget.
However... with this particular brief Estée Lauder Double Wear. Excellent lengthener but does not substantially volumise.

Nanna50 · 20/01/2020 22:11

Budget wise soap and glory thick and fast, no clumping.

HotSince82 · 20/01/2020 22:11

Rimmel lash accelerator or benefit roller one.

GeePipe · 20/01/2020 22:14

Primark do a fake lash one in a silver tube that lengthens without adding volume its pretty good

HarryRug · 20/01/2020 22:18

Lancôme definicils

MiniTheMinx · 21/01/2020 09:05

Thank you everyone for the responses.
Fridaysgirl I don't have a budget, I've spent a small fortune already making disastrous buys! I like Estee Lauder so I'll try it because I buy their Perfectionist Pro which is brilliant.

GeePipe I have that actually, it's quite good, but for some reason its making my eyes itch. I like the brush to it, it adds definition.

HarryRug yep I'll give it a go, thank you.

I used to use a cheap mascara from rimmel in purple tube, I think it was called false lash effect clump something. They stopped making it. It was fab. it's so annoying to find a product that works only for it to be discontinued.

I've just noticed HotSince82 the benefit roller one. I've seen it recommended quite a lot. I've never tried any of their products. I've been put off by their packaging......which sounds silly I know, plus I've never been able to get the attention of the sales assistants to ask questions...... I think I'm too old Grin

I’d second the soap and glory thick and fast. The name is misleading- it’s not thickening imo.
I received it in a gift set at Christmas and was dubious as I usually go higher end but I’m really impressed.
I used to use Clinique doll eyes which was perfect for this but it’s long discontinued, sadly.

CantChoose · 21/01/2020 09:12

I’ve also used roller lash and liked it.

RidgedPerfection · 21/01/2020 09:16

I have thick black lashes and really rate tubing mascaras; blinc and Clinique Power Lash are my favourites with Clinique being the one I prefer. The added bonus is they don't smudge or flake and are so easy to remove.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 21/01/2020 11:12

Eyeko black magic gives lots of length without any volume. Much to my annoyance as I wanted the volume.

You can get a travel size for a tenner to try out. Bought mine in selfridges beauty hall but available online too.

Glitterb · 21/01/2020 11:46

YSL no other mascara compares. It lasts and doesn’t smudge. I have naturally long lashes but like the effect

Benefit I found it snapped my lashes and was a pain in the arse to remove

Tyrozet · 21/01/2020 11:53

Another vote for S&G here. Not thick or clumpy at all and it adds a nice length.

Fanniesyeraunt · 21/01/2020 11:54

L’Oréal telescopic (the one in good or black tune). I’ve tried loads over the years (I’m 40) but have stuck to this for the last 5-6 years.

Fanniesyeraunt · 21/01/2020 11:54

It’s about £10.

Fanniesyeraunt · 21/01/2020 11:55

Gold or black tube (not good or black tune!,)

Chicinwellies · 21/01/2020 22:33

Ooh I totally agree that Roller Lash while good, does absolutely snap lashes. I love Eyeko, and Ysl too . Beauty bay often sell travel size mascaras which are great .

Chicinwellies · 23/01/2020 15:40

Just tried soap and glory thick and fast, not a patch on roller lash and smudges terribly.

Will try telescopic next x

kiddingmyfatself · 23/01/2020 16:53

I agree with the telescopic only one I'm not allergic too and the brush is so easy to use if you are hamfisted and shortsighted like me!!!

onemouseplace · 23/01/2020 17:04

I used Clinique Naturally Glossy for years which did exactly that - lengthen and define. I might go back to it actually - I can't even remember why I stopped using it!

applepineapple · 23/01/2020 17:13

Glossier Lash Slick GrinGrin

RapidRainbow · 23/01/2020 17:45

Google '100 mascaras one eye'

Mumble29 · 23/01/2020 17:58

I use a waterproof one by Essence called all eyes on me, £2 from wilko and honestly one of the best mascaras I've ever used and I've tried a LOT over the years. It lengthens my lashes without clumping and doesn't smudge (on me anyway)

CinderEmma · 23/01/2020 18:08

The best mascara I ever had was from Aldi and it was a 3D one and was amazing for lengthening lashes. Don't think they stock it anymore though Sad Wilkos Essence Lash Princess is quite good and really cheap.

NewInTown08 · 23/01/2020 18:27

Second Estée Lauder double wear. Lengthens without too much volume, stays on all day and is very easy to take off.
