Slim tailored trousers

Hit me up with recommendations, I’m looking to buy a couple of pairs of really nice cigarette trousers. Fed up of crap fabric that creases badly or even worse goes dozey at the knees.
Grey, black or blues (anything from Prussian up to cobalt, to wear mostly with short heeled ankle boots or heels.
Budget up to 150 give or take
I’m 5’8 hourglass size 10 mostly, depends on brand. I’m looking for classic tailored, front zip fly, side pockets a must.

Any ideas?

Also on the look out for lovely skinny jeans (I know they’re a bit passé but don’t care! They suit me and I like them) same criteria, no dozey knees or too stiff fabric, current favourites are too big as I’ve lost a bit of weight

Dozey knees?? Confused

Hellbentwellwent · 20/01/2020 20:34

You know! Dozey knees??? No???
Ok, maybe it’s a regional thing but when you sit down for a while, stand up at the fabric round the knees has stretched and doesn’t go back to shape so you end up looking like you’re not standing up straight even though you are... dozey knees, as in the fabric has dozed like old elastic
Just me then 😂

Jigsaw paris

AnnDaloozier · 20/01/2020 20:35

Skinnies a classic

Hellbentwellwent · 20/01/2020 20:44

Not fussed on them, not skinny enough for skinnies or tailored enough for smart. I’m a nightmare and totally unapologetic!

Jaeger, still in business although mostly online. I have bought two different pairs of cigarette trousers this winter, both with side pockets. Super flattering.

Hellbentwellwent · 20/01/2020 20:53

Gonegrey, great shout! I’d forgotten about jaeger, love their stuff, really good quality fabrics and great tailoring. Off to look now Smile

Another vote for Jigsaw Paris, although downside is that they need dry-cleaning. If you want machine washable, then Reiss Joanne trousers are worth a look. I have several pairs of these: nice fabric, pockets and they hold their shape well.

Reiss every time for me

Hellbentwellwent · 20/01/2020 21:08

Can’t see anything I like on jaeger, don’t like jigsaw unfortunately their fit doesn’t suit me I’ve tried before as I love some of their stuff but I’m too long in the back and their clothes just don’t sit right in me. Love Reiss but looked before I couldn’t see anything I loved but I’ll go back for another look

Plus Paris don’t do Long

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 20/01/2020 22:15

All Jigsaw is designed for 5ft 8 women, so not gonna be short

Sexnotgender · 20/01/2020 22:20

I’ve just got a few pairs from Boden, Hobbs trousers are usually good too.

Ponks · 21/01/2020 00:02

Me & Em trousers are brilliant. Good quality and v flattering, don't know how they manage it.

AnnDaloozier · 21/01/2020 06:32

Thanks for telling me if trousers aren’t too short for me. I’ve a 33 inch inside leg. It’s too short

AnnDaloozier · 21/01/2020 06:32

Boden often too long in the body

jcurve · 21/01/2020 07:46

Third vote for Jigsaw Paris. I’m 5’9” with a 33” inseam and they are the perfect length, I’ve got 4 pairs of them.

One of the lovely ladies at Jigsaw let me know you can hand wash them, she does so with no issues.
