Me again, already have a post about shampoo and conditioner Grin

I have quite long hair, it comes half way down my back, already booked in tomorrow to have a fringe put in but im considering having it all cut shorter... the opinions from people i know saying keep it long (including my partner) but i find it drags my face down and it does age me (im 30) what are others opinion? Keep long, or go shorter?

It's beautiful! I would add a fringe and go say 3/4 inches shorter, tops! Xxx

peachypetite · 20/01/2020 11:20

It looks like a mix of two hair styles, kind of a bob and then long and layered. The ends look a little dry - i think you need several inches cut off.

BonnesVacances · 20/01/2020 11:23

I know she's persona non grata, but a shorter Caroline Flack hairstyle would suit you. Have you ever had a fringe? I tend to find people without them don't have one for a reason.

Kwkwjwkek · 20/01/2020 11:23

Defo go shorter. It will look fresher and nicer. The ends are looking scraggly

BonnesVacances · 20/01/2020 11:25

This length

The ends are very very dry, i constantly seem to get my hair caught and the ends are in dredful condition.
I have had a fringe a few times, havd cancelled tomorrows appt for a fringe and made an appt next week for a proper cut. Im thinking maybe a side swept fringe?

Try coco and eve hair mask before you lop off any inches. Remember it take a year to grow 4 inches that’s a bloody long time to get back a mistake

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 20/01/2020 12:05

May be too much off for you but I think it would be lovely cut to just below shoulder length - like this. You have gorgeous hair.

I think shorter would suit you, anywhere from shoulder length to an Olivia Colman short style. I would go for long layers around your face, rather than a straight fringe. Your hair is a really nice colour by the way.

MopsRUs · 20/01/2020 12:15

IMHO a straight-across fringe could make your face look more round or triangular rather than the oval it currently is.

Aderyn19 · 20/01/2020 12:18

I did this once - went from long hair to really short. I wouldn't recommend that for you because I think it's maybe better to go gradually shorter just to be certain it's what you want (because it takes ages to grow back). I'm glad I did it though because I was so curious and even though I prefer it longer and have grown it back now, I did enjoy the total change

Tattooedmama · 20/01/2020 12:18

Thankyou everyone for the replies 😊
I was thinking of like a long bob, it has took 3 years for it to get to this length from shoulder length but im now just hating how high maintenance it is, dry and i have little baby curls that dont grow (along the front and underneath) so currently when i have my hair up these bits always stick out and looks silly, kerby grips never stay in either

No fringe!

Cookit · 20/01/2020 12:28

Mine is like yours and I’m itching to do something with it, I just don’t know what.

I’ve had it all cut off before and within a year or so it’s super long again so I’m not worried about a terrible mistake, just something that will look nice most days without being high maintenance.

BestestBrownies · 20/01/2020 12:35

You have beautiful hair and a face shape that can take most styles so lots of options open to you.

I agree the ends look a bit tatty, so would go for a deep conditioning treatment and then a professional consultation with your hairdresser, who will be a much better judge in person than anyone just looking at a photo

BestestBrownies · 20/01/2020 12:37

Do ppl recommend coco&eve then? Their ads are always splashed all over my FB and look promising but it’s pricey so would love to know if it’s really that good

Inliverpool1 · 20/01/2020 13:43

I paid £60 for two tubs, two little tubes and a micro fibre towel. I’m pretty stingy with it and only apply it when I can leave it on for an hour but my hair is like silk ... I also olaplex when I bleach and alternate between number 3 and coco but tbh it’s taken nearly 5 years to get my hair nice and long. I’m not chancing anything

abstractprojection · 20/01/2020 15:29

I would say a long messy bob, I wouldn't go shorter then your shoulders though

Tattooedmama · 24/01/2020 12:50

Hair gets chopped tomorrow will update with photo tomorrow, feeling so nervous Grin

How did it go? Photo please Smile

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2020 12:35

Clearly I’m too late to add my opinion but hey ho, I’m going to do it anyway. Grin I think you could very effectively cut to the length of your very shortest layers (the bits framing your face in the current photo).
