Trainers in washing machine?

Can I wash DD’s white Air Force 1’s and her black nike 97’s in the washing machine? Maybe not together though. I’ve washed Nike huaraches before & they’ve been ok. Just thinking all trainers are different. Would I be better cleaning her Air Force 1’s with a sponge & some cif cream? They’ve gone a bit blueish around the top, can only think it’s off her jeans or socks.

I washed by sons Air Force 1 in the machine over Xmas and they were fine. A sportswear cycle - cool and slow spin.

I’ve put my Air Force 1s in the washer with no problems.

Does the rubber not go a weird yellow my colour? All the trainer I've ever washed before have done that

namechange1041 · 18/01/2020 16:07

Don't put them in the dryer like I did Grin

I've just washed DDs for the third time. No problems. Obv just a short cycle...

I have a specific trainer wash setting on my Miele

It’s a short wash at 30 with 1200 speed

Come up beautifully

Don’t wash the 97s in the machine, water will get into the air pocket and won’t come out. The Air Force 1s put inside a pillow case, it’s less harsh on the trainer.

Her 97s are in the wash as we speak....shit I hope they come out in one piece. They’re her ‘old’ trainers but still have wear in them, hopefully! Haven’t washed her Air Force ones yet, they’re a bit newer so she’s more guarded over those!

@youvegottobekidding did they survive?

youvegottobekidding · 21/01/2020 17:05

Yes! Yes they did, I put them in a pillowcase so I’m not sure if that helps. All is good, phew!

I put trainers in the like on a rinse cycle and find it’s enough to clean them while being quite gentle
