T-shirts

I’m looking for advice on t-shirts. Very exciting, I know. I wear a lot of white and grey ones, and for a long time my routine has been to buy cheap (Primark, supermarkets, sometimes M&S or Uniqlo), wear until they look a bit tatty, demote to decorating or make into cloths. But I feel I’m wasting resources and also not looking great, as they don’t look good for long really. I find the dirt cheap ones don’t hold up much worse than the moderately cheap ones. I like a relaxed crew neck style without stretch, 100% cotton.

I’m quite a uniform dresser and while I don’t mind spending a bit on skirts and jumpers, I’m loth to spend on t-shirts that will soon get stained (especially as I am quite a sweaty person!), go out of shape, etc. I also find it quite easy to get a lot of my other clothes second hand, but not t-shirts.

S&Bers, what do you do? Should I start spending more? Is it worth it? Are there any brands you especially like? Am I the only one struggling with this boring dilemma?

I love Baukjen for T-shirts. They wash well, keep their shape and last. I still have some that are 3 years old and going strong. For me the most important thing is that they don’t bobble! Baukjen are big on sustainability too. I’ve just bought 3 of the same T-shirt in the sale on a 3 for 2 so good value. Whilst they are pricey, they are quality so I’m happy to spend a bit more on my staple basics.

Oh and meant to add, I’m a bit of a sweaty Betty too but the T-shirts are cotton so I find they don’t tend to make me as sweaty!

@lanternlight thanks so much, that’s really helpful. How is their sizing?

Lands End t shirts are great. Think they've a sale on just now.
