New Le Chameau wellingtons

I’ve finally took the plunge after years of fancying them and they rub my heels so bad! Devastated as my trusty Dunlop’s never pinched 😂 I’ve only worn them 4 times.
Any tips to avoid wellington boots rubbing on the heel? I’m a 5.5 and got the 6 as they say they are a true to size fit with Wellington socks.

Currently experimenting with different socks.

Oh I love my Le Chameau wellies. I did also get big and wear very big socks/wellie liners.

Can you wear two pair of thinner socks? That way they rub against each other and not your heel-that's a runners trick.

You can also get that stick stuff that you rub on heels to prevent blisters-usually found in hiking stores etc DD used when trekking

I hope they work out for you!

I absolutely love mine but I think they did rub a bit when I first got them. 2 thin pairs sounds a good idea, hopefully that’ll do the trick

Thanks, I CBA to put plasters on every time I take the dog out for a walk, turns into a faff.

Does anyone find them tricky to get off, they need a good yank, must get myself a boot Jack so I don’t trash them.

Boot jack definitely a necessity for me. I got one free with the wellies, bizarrely shaped like a camel for some reason!

Sweetpea1989 · 16/01/2020 20:42

A camel?! That’s funny.

Le Chameau means "the camel."

Boot jack is a must. Such a simple thing but such a pleasure

I have this one-I love it. Sits outside my front door and is perfect!

That's good @Sweetpea1989.

I’ve had a beautiful pair of Chameau wellies. Look nice but rub me heels like mad because I walk miles in them. I believe Chameau and premium wellies are made of sticky materials like silicone and rubber rather than plastic(Dunlop’s) which means the sticky heels cause more rubbing. Cheapest solution is lining the heel with some duck tape to make the heels slippy rather than grippy. Due to the high miles I walk I find the duck tape will rub off after 40 miles so take some backup plasters with you as a backup.
