Perms....? Yes or no?

Is it safe to get a perm yet? I keep waiting for them to come back in, but it just never seems to happen. Surely crispy straight hair has had its day?
* disclaimer * not the 80's glam rock kind- more lovely soft curls

Also interested to find out more....
Apparently they 'ruin your hair' when I asked hairdresser before 😏

I stopped having them 2 years ago when I decided to grow my hair long, but when my hair was shorter I used to have a soft perm on the biggest rods that my stylist could use. It didn't make my hair curly like Vera Duckworth, just wavy and with loads of lift at the roots, much easier for me to style. It was great, and it certainly didn't damage my hair!
I couldn't care less if perms were unfashionable. They helped me to manage my stubborn hair and get lift at the roots.

Digital perms were really popular a few years ago.
