Denim dress with tights?

I quite fancy a denim dress to wear with ankle boots but, I can't (won't) do bare legs and in most of the pictures the models have bare legs. Would tights look naff? I'm thinking sheer black as they're coming back in or maybe micro fishnets.

I usually wear dungaree shorts, black tights and a darkish long sleeved t-shirt with black ankle boots.

Well, I've just ordered a black denim dress from Gap as it was in the sale. Was originally going to go for blue so not sure whether I'll be keeping it.
