Which laptop bag? With pics!

I've narrowed it down to these two.... hadn't even considered boring old Targus but actually the Tote is exactly what I was after (I like the Knomo backpacks but they don't have padded straps).

So, play it safe with traditional backpack style or try the tote/convertible one (which I prefer but will it be as practical)?

Personally I slightly prefer the backpack but go with the one you like.

I know this isn't what you're asking, but I have the Knomo Berlin backpack which does have padded straps and is incredibly capacious. I love it but it's expensive.

However, I also (slightly superfluously) have this M&S laptop backpack which is excellent, if anything even more comfortable to wear than the Knomo one. They're sold out of the lovely burgundy I have, but the navy looks very nice indeed. Lots of useful pockets and like the Knomo extremely lightweight.

Both take a 15" laptop which was my prerequisite.

The straps on the tote don't look like they will fit comfortably on the shoulders. I also think the opening looks quite narrow and once the lap top is in, it may be difficult to find anything else in the bag as it is so deep and narrow.

I've ordered the Tote and will see how I go.... I do sometimes end up with a pair of flats in there too.... love the Knomo Berlin, don't know why I hadn't seen that one (was looking at the Beuchamp). Not so keen on the M&S.

The Berlin is amazing. Yesterday it carried a t-shirt I'd ordered online (in packaging), a pair of heels, a 9yo's birthday present, a makeup bag, coffee cup, breakfast pot AND my laptop, mouse and iPad. I do carry a small cross-body for purse/keys/phone/Oyster, but could have fitted those in as well if I'd needed to.

Just bought the M&S one. Loaded it up and it is indeed very comfortable to carry. Love the internal water bottle holder, hidden back zipper pocket and strap to fit over a trolley case. Very lightweight and I think looks quite stylish (a million times better than my IT department issued monstrosity anyway!)

A couple of people at my work have this one, just to throw in another, which looks great in the flesh and one woman has told me has lasted her well (still looks new) for a few years: www.amazon.co.uk/Himawari-Polyester-Backpack-School-14-inch/dp/B0753VG33R/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?psc=1&keywords=navy%2Bbackpack&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1579208892&sr=8-12
