Lace up heeled brogues

aroundtheworldyet · 13/01/2020 16:39

So. I’ve been searching everywhere and I thought you folks might be able to help.

What I want is a sort of oxford brogue, but with a decent heel, that laces up.
Sort of vintage style. Not an ankle boot though. And not too Victoriana! If you get what I mean.

Any help much appreciated!

Like the ones in this picture?
I have no idea, but if anyone does I'd also be v grateful.

SurpriseSparDay · 13/01/2020 17:15

Like this?

(You can’t find many at the moment because they’re out of fashion right now! Dogged determination is generally a quality to be admired, but ...)

EggysMom · 13/01/2020 17:17

Try Deichmann, thats where i've bought similar before.

AuldAlliance · 13/01/2020 17:47

Geox have some. High heel, though...

SurpriseSparDay · 13/01/2020 18:38

Oh, have just come upon these, by chance.

No idea of your budget ...

aroundtheworldyet · 13/01/2020 18:41

@auldAlliance
Hahaha thanks!! Yes they’re nice and I saw the geox. But maybe they’re a bit boxy. Perhaps a higher heel so a little more fancy. I wear a lot of brogue type shoes for work already. Though that first site is good! So very useful!

@SurpriseSparDay
Sadly I am not very on trend! Churches are too expensive for me! And they’re a bit blocky.

I think I might be trying to find the impossible. I have something in my minds eye and that’s not helping!

@EggysMom
i will try them. Thank you!

Maybe I should just try and be more on trend!

My budget is really no more than 150 ish.

Well ... Unfortunately I can’t recall which thread it was but a clever (and seemingly stylish) poster did make this point quite eloquently. There’s some sense in, to an extent, going with the flow and updating one’s look simply by buying what’s in the shops rather than what you’ve decided you want.

Obviously if you cleave to a particular style and that’s your ‘thing’ ...

EggysMom · 13/01/2020 19:31

I didn't realise heeled brogues were out of fashion. I'm still wearing mine. But then again, I still wear bootcut jeans because they balance my hips. And don't wear leggings, heaven forbid. I'm quite happy to be unfashionable Grin

This? www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00V2GHVK8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I had a pair and was waiting at the bus stop.

A woman sidled up to me and said it ‘I wanted to tell you that Jesus Loves you! And I love your shoes!’. 😆

Lordfrontpaw · 13/01/2020 19:38

I also have some Geox ones but the soles are like walking on ice.

I’ve have 3 bad slips with them (I really should get them resoled) and they aren’t even leather soles!

Mumthedogsbeensick · 13/01/2020 19:39

Joe Browns often have the type of shoe you are after

NotMeNoNo · 13/01/2020 19:48

Clarks did them until recently (Tarah Victoria) but they are out of stock in the outlet site. I like this style too, have had to go over to low heel brogues now.

NotMeNoNo · 13/01/2020 19:56

Hobbs often have this style too. I've seen one somewhere described as a shoe boot. Good luck

GorkyMcPorky · 13/01/2020 20:06

I had some from Dune awhile ago.

TheForgetfulCat · 13/01/2020 20:08

Any good? My favourite shoes ever are like this and by Wonders. Not snakeskin but that basic shape. Have lasted years and I am very fond of them.

Try shoe embassy they have a few styles you might like.

Squiz81 · 13/01/2020 22:38

I have some tan ones from Clarks which I found on eBay and are really comfy. I also have 2 black pairs, one from Clarks and one from new look. I do love a brogue

aroundtheworldyet · 13/01/2020 22:47

Ok gang. I have found some which are not exactly what I said I wanted. But I do think they’re rather cool.

Also I think I am stylish in other ways. And perhaps “trends” aren’t all they’re cut out to be!!
I love these, but they’re still not really what I wanted.
I want a high heel. Well high-ish
I live in mid heels. I wanted a bit of a January fuck you shoe!

I’ve been following this as DD wants a pair - she loves the L’Autre Chose linked below. I’ve found several pairs On Yoox.com by filtering for high heels and laced shoes (in her size anyway).

archaeoptyrx · 16/01/2020 08:02

I just got a pair on sale from Gabor. Similar to these on Amazon:
