Where can I buy an amazing black blazer?

Would like to replace my current black jacket because it has 3/4 sleeves, and I have a couple of dresses with long sleeves now. It's for going out not work. Looking for something good quality, a modern but relatively classic blazer that I'll wear for years hopefully. I'm a size 10-12, age 40. Thanks!

Also I'm in the north west, and want to try on in a shop so ideally not London only brands please! Chester, Liverpool and Manchester all possible.

What's your budget?

Very flexible. I'd say target £100 but if I find something amazing could spend a good bit more.

Thanks Gump both look good. I'm wary of anything that looks like my suit jacket so will need to see the Reiss one in the flesh, wonder if the DvF one might be in Selfridges.

There’s one in Zara in the sale £30 - don’t know how to link from the app - search ‘Tuxedo collar blazer’
My go to blazer is from there - the fit is brilliant

I love j crew but not sure if they are in the north

I bought the Hartley/something similar from Reiss a couple of years back. Like you I was prepared to invest. It is fantastic. I wear it out over a lot and it’s such beautiful quality and tailoring. Incredibly flattering.

I'd suggest starting with Zara. You might not need to go higher end.

I'd have a look at Joseph or Massimo Dutti if I were you. Jigsaw are also worth a look but the cut will be better at the other two.

Oh, and Jaeger! Their tailoring is a dream.

This is so helpful. Keep them coming, won't get to the shops for a couple of weeks.
