Trainers. Not allowed Vans so....Stan Smiths? All Stars? Or something else?

I need to replace my very knackered black canvas Vans. I fancy something a bit chunkier. Maybe suede.

But I am bit overwhelmed with the choice! I would have probably gone for some Old Skool Vans - but DD (age 13) got some for Christmas. And despite me eyeing them up covetously I really, really cannot do the same trainers as my daughter as she would disown me actually she is a total sweetheart but I wouldn't want to take the shine off her new, much coveted shoes

So have had a look at Stan Smiths - they look OK. Tried on some All Stars - v comfortable but DD says All Stars are what all the Yr6 girls where so I may feel a bit too "down with the kids" in them.

Part of me doesn't care what "brand" I get (I am 48 and too old for that shit) . But also another part of me doesn't want to be the one in the pub wearing crap trainers.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Price-wise I could go c£80, maybe a touch more.

Supergas? A lot of it seems to vary with location - all stars are the shoe of choice here for anyone aged 35+.

Adidas Campus trainers look fab with everything. They are also super comfy.

I’m 43 and on my 3rd pair of Superga. I wear them with everything from floral maxi dresses to skinny jeans.

I have some superstars that I love, really comfy and I wear them loads.

Dd has suede vans.

I have some stab smiths and they’re the comfiest trainers, outside of gym ones, that I’ve ever had.

I have several pairs of Adidas Superstars, I love them.

I also have Veja and Golden Goose but like the Superstars best.

Stan smiths obviously!

I love my Stan smiths - agree comfiest ever! But am getting bored of them and recently found a pair of carvelas in tkmaxx. I fear everything will feel uncomfortable compared with Stan smiths

If you fancy suede I would look at puma carina or Adidas gazelles

Stan Smiths, go forth. They’re so comfortable! I have 2 pairs, cream suede and gold, and white with navy. They really do go with everything.

Grey goose s bit ££ but very nice. Think I may get clicking on a few options mentioned, particularly the Stan Smiths. Like the look of the Campus.

I'm on about my fiftieth pair of Stan Smiths, they're so comfy. Also have a pair of Airforce 1s

I have such a 90s fondness for pumas and also superstars. I have weird shaped feet so find Stan smiths uncomfortable. Gazelles I also like but dither over colour.

I like Airforce Ones too...but DD bought a pair of with her birthday money. As above she probably wouldn't really mind if I got the same as she is such a sweetheart - but I think there are enough other options out there for me not to iyswim.

I think she likes that I ask her opinion on this stuff, but yes, also, will be taking it with the weight of a 13yo (hence have ordered some All Stars despite being older than Yr 7
