Ingrown hairs help?!

Hi

I am a regular waxer (Hollywood) and I got my last wax on 29th November.. I noticed when it started growing back a few weeks later it was sooo itchy way more than usual and I had a lot of spots which I assume were ingrown hairs on the pubic area Bikini line and underneath was fine.

The more the hair was growing the itchier it seemed to be anyways Most of them just looked like the usual spots I get after shaving

The itching was stopped now and the spots are fading but still doesn’t look great however I noticed a really big kind of under the skin red lump a week ago I squeezed it and some clear puss came out (tmi) I couldn’t seem to find the hair.

Anyways I’m quite worried as this huge one is getting smaller slowly but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon and the little ones are taking there time to.

My pubic area (the top bit) looks awful and I don’t know why these are hanging around so long especially the big one considering my wax was over a month ago.

I started worrying it was a wart but I’ve had the jab and it doesn’t look anything like the warts on google and I read warts won’t puss and are dry and hard.

Had a panic last night and tried to find a sexual health clinic open on a Saturday but I couldn’t.. my friend said warts aren’t usually on the pubic bit and are around the vag (tmi again )

Does anyone have any tips or experience with this ? I suffer from ingrown hairs but not for this long after could it be infected ?

Sounds like ingrown hairs...

You need to exfoliate and you can buy an amazing spray that Lycon do, it has completely stopped mine!

I don't have an answer for you (sorry!) but you can call the national sexual health helpline on 0300 123 7123. its open Monday to Friday, 9am–8pm.

@Glitterb thanks I ordered something already before I saw your message 🙈 I’m just wondering why they are hanging around so long though ?!

Sounds like ingrown hairs. You need to exfoliate and get something like tend skin (or make your own version with aspirin and witch hazel)

Gooseysgirl · 11/01/2020 16:18

Could be a bartholins cyst

Glitterb · 11/01/2020 16:21

@Lucy2999 could it be infected?

I get them if I don’t use the spray, no matter how much I exfoliate or if i wax or shave

If concerned then definitely get checked out!

Gooseysgirl · 11/01/2020 16:22

But I agree with PPs and I think it's most likely to be an ingrown hair

Lucy2999 · 11/01/2020 16:29

@Gooseysgirl just had a look don’t tnink it’s that

@Glitterb I’m thinking maybe it is infected But doesn’t hurt or anything. i admit I did very little exfoliation before and after this wax 🙈

Same as me! The spray is brilliant though, you don’t need to use a lot but makes a massive difference. They do a scrub as well but is always sold out

dontgobaconmyheart · 11/01/2020 16:39

It does sound like ingrown hairs OP (and just bad luck). Leave it alone or it may scar, just keep it moisturised or put some sudocreme or salicylic acid toner on it. Frustratingly I think they can take some time to heal. It's why I don't bother anymore , so much less faff and discomfort.

TantricTwist · 11/01/2020 20:01

Its just a cyst from an ingrown hair.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 30/01/2020 23:01

@Glitterb Where do you buy the spray from please?

Glitterb · 31/01/2020 07:14

@MrsGarethSouthgate I got it from the salon that did the wax but you can buy it online, it’s Lycon x it solution in a white and blue bottle

MrsGarethSouthgate · 01/02/2020 10:12

Thanks @Glitterb - I have ordered some online Smile

Glitterb · 01/02/2020 10:26

@MrsGarethSouthgate it’s brilliant so you won’t regret it! Apparently the scrub is really good as well but it’s always sold out 😿
