Should I get a boob job?

Hannah2199 · 07/01/2020 21:09

I've always been on the smaller side (B cup) and was finally ok with it. But after kids and breastfeeding I've gone down to AA cup. I've always been pearshaped but more so since kids gone up from size 10 to size 12-14. Possibly could go back down a little but think hips would still be big. Basically I look terrible and completely unbalanced.

So...options....do I try and lose weight to aim to be size 6-8 which is where I feel AA cup would suit? You see those really thin people with small boobs on tv? Unrealistic I know, but would this even work? Like surely they cant get any smaller??!!

Or do I get a boob job? Pros - bigger boobs obviously, potentially more confidence, OH has mentioned quite strongly that he previously he preferred when I was bigger- went up to E cup while feeding. Has said he would support decision to go ahead. Says he found I had more confidence before and said bigger cup size did make big difference in bedroom etc etc

I know it wouldn't turn me into a super model or anything but just a bit more confident.

But....would there be any regrets? Does it feel natural? Would I still be able to run? Hug the kids etc?

How often do you need to have surgery done? Could this shorten my life when I'm older?

Would I look odd having great boobs but rubbish belly from having the kids? Obviously would try and lose some weight beforehand

Would people be able to tell? I think I feel ashamed of AA size, but would feel ashamed that I'd needed to have surgery etc. Would it take much recovery time as I think I would hide it from family etc.

How could I hide it? Are there very padded bras or something I could wear in the meantime to hide the transition?

How would I go about finding a surgeon?

I'm not usually a vain person, don't spend ages doing make up or have fancy clothes and only get my hair cut a couple of times a year. Am I mad for even thinking about this???

Sorry if any if these questions seem silly but I dont know anyone who has had this done. Is that because people haven't? Or do people just not talk about it?

The boob jobs that work best are on very slim people who would otherwise be flat chested. If you carry weight on your bottom half you will end up looking heavier all over. An ex colleague with what I would describe as an athletic physique (flat chested, but muscular arms and legs) had one done and it just made her look very "chunky".

FWIW, your own boobs will recover from breastfeeding. Give it time and they do come back!

Haworthia · 08/01/2020 15:34

It’s OK to be pear shaped you know. I am, and I’ve always had small boobs and disproportionately large hips. But it’s just the way I am. And, as @Myimaginarycathasfleas points out, if you had bigger boobs plus your big hips then you’ll run the risk of looking dumpy all over.

Stronger2020 · 08/01/2020 15:40

Measure your boobs properly. You too, @borntobequiet

Skyejuly · 08/01/2020 15:49

Yes I think if I had larger boobs I would look 3 sizes bigger.

SuspicionAintTheWay · 08/01/2020 15:55

We had a temp in our office, she was super skinny but quite cleavagey.
Didn't put 2+2 together until one of the men asked me why her body was weird.

If you are busty you usually look fatter. Models are usually flat chested.
Even models who model underwear aren't particularly large.

It is difficult to cope with the post bf boobs but womens boobs are for bf.

That's a dead giveaway that they're fake. They look out of proportion. The other giveaway is from the side. They don't look the same as natural ones. And of course, running on a treadmill with big hooters but without the, erm, support you'd really need if they were natural.

My DD is one of those very slim people. She's small-busted, but it looks proportional to her frame as she's very muscular from being very athletic.

TheNavigator · 08/01/2020 16:16

You could use all that money to get away from your horrible husband who obviously loves to put you down and drain your confidence. Seriously, it is money for retraining, deposit on a flat. Don't use it to slice open your body and risk your long term health for a man that does not love you as you deserve and could be loved. Really. Forget the boobs, make this the year you have the confidence to stand up for yourself and stop taking crap from your husband.

Get therapy.

borntobequiet · 08/01/2020 17:11

My bras are individually fitted by an expert and fit very well. I reject any that don’t fit. My back is very wide and my breasts small but they sit high. 38B in two particular brands/styles work perfectly for me. Don’t patronise, please.

ChasingRainbows19 · 08/01/2020 17:41

Natural pear shape here. I've a good sized bum size and hip size but small chest. No children but it's still a B cup.

It may not be the same but im now 40 since taking up yoga and small weights my body is so much better. Still the same shape but my boobs seem bigger, slightly less weight carried and lost weight around my stomach so that could be it. But defo more pert thanks to exercise. My bum is still very much there, I've never had a fat one but just a curvy bum. Its lifted and more rounded. I'm a 12 but I like my shape but have to work at it!

My partner loves my curves. He prob likes bigger boobs too ( think Kelly brook) but he has never once said they are too small and gives them enough attention!!

So I'm in agreement about the exercise too! Worth a go it can really change your figure ( also watch what you eat within reason to help eg more protein) Maybe a PT would be a good start just to get you going if it was in budget

Hey OP,

I have the opposite problem in that I often toy with the idea of a breast reduction. But I guess I do understand at least what it's like to be unhappy with your boobs. A 12-14 is obviously a perfectly normal size to be but if you feel unhappy with your weight perhaps some exercise would be a good idea, and see how you feel after 6 months or so. It doesn't sound like getting down to an 8 would be sustainable from what you've said so I wouldn't aim for that, just sensible diet and exercise (try weights, honestly) and reevaluate after a decent period of time.

I'm another who thinks clothes look better on small boobs, and people tend to look all round more elegant. I either look chunky as hell or very very booby (or both!). But, it's not about me of course and if it's something that is truly upsetting you it's worth seeing how you feel after making some more natural changes to your body.

When I say work best, I mean have the desired effect. I agree they don't look natural. But some people love that "Real Housewives" look.

fringeforever · 08/01/2020 19:02

There's a lot of boob job hating on this thread. There's no shame in wanting to change things about your body and within reason it's fine and can be done safely. I don't regret my boob job and I'm not skinny by any means. I'm probably a similar size to you on the bottom, op. They do balance me out and I look more proportional and better in my clothes and out of them. Husband making negative comments about your body is another story

thekarmabus · 08/01/2020 19:19

Yes you would just use the noogleberry on your small breast to bring it up or nearly up to the size of the other one. Google it. It does work if you put the time in. I'd recommend getting the sponges that you can get to go over the plastic cups as they are quite hard against your skin.

thekarmabus · 08/01/2020 19:20

Sorry that message was for unevastevena

Hannah2199 · 08/01/2020 20:25

Thanks everyone you've put a lot of doubt in my mind - which is probably a good thing!

I had mine done in 2002. I went from AAA to a D cup. I've never regretted it and not had any problems.
Mine are under the muscle with a teardrop shaped fairly solid implant (not liquid filled, they're like a gummy bear) and have always looked really natural.
My surgeon was Dai Davies and I believe he is still working. He was very very good.

DisinterestedParty · 09/01/2020 07:28

@fringeforever "within reason it's fine and can be done safely."

Well that's the point, I don't find major surgery to be within reason or safe.

Needadviceplz · 09/01/2020 09:03

Zurala have you had any problems with them rotating? If I go for a boob job I'd want similar but just bit smaller. I think that shape looks so natural and like the idea they can't leak anything

gingersausage · 09/01/2020 12:02

What is it with all these “OHs” having opinions on women’s bodies, and even worse their partners quoting them like they are relevant?

OP, if you fix your tits to suit his standards he will then no doubt find something else to moan about, and you’ll be stuck with a huge bill and a whole load of potential health issues.

TightPants · 09/01/2020 12:44

Having previously been a DD cup, I lost 3 stone in weight 10 years ago.
I’m 5ft9 with a large build and broad shoulders and my bra size went down to an A cup. I looked totally flat chested for my size and shape.
I got over muscle implants and have never regretted it (and I’m not ‘glam’ or into cosmetic surgery at all).
I’ve since had DC and they’ve sagged! They look completely natural.
I got them done for me.
If you’re going to go ahead OP, do it for you and do your homework first.

Concestor · 09/01/2020 22:12

Needadvice I haven't had any problems with them at all. No one ever guesses they're fake especially since having children as they've sagged a bit so are less perky but I can still go braless.

Stronger2020 · 10/01/2020 00:24

@borntobequiet even with a broad back, at a size 14 you’re very unlikely to have an under bust measurement of 38”.

Miseryisabutterfly · 10/01/2020 14:50

I really don’t like this. Your husband sounds awful and I think you need to sort your head out before you make any decisions. The talk about becoming a size 6-8 because really slim people look good with little boobs is beyond ridiculous. Focus on your physical and mental health and do what’s right for you and you alone.
