Timberland boots

Hi,
Are timberland boots worth the price? (even with the sale on atm they're a lot!)
And has anyone worn them with orthotic innersoles? Do they fit okay or do they do that horrible rubbing because your heel is higher up than it should be?
Thanks

I have an all black pair and love them! I would say they’re worth the money as they are pretty indestructible. I’m not in the UK but it’s freezing in winter where I live and they keep my feet lovely and warm as the sole is so insulated.

I’m not sure about orthotic insoles - best to try them on with the soles in. I wear sheepskin insoles in mine to make them warmer - it’s a bit of a pain to get them on with insoles as you have to really loosen the laces. But I love mine all the same!

Thanks - they sound good then. The thick non slip soles particularly appeal to me as I can be a bit clumsy. Can I ask, is the innersole already there removable? That's how I usually manage with hiking boots and day boots, although it is annoying when posh boots advertise the comfy innersole and I just have to take it out.

Don't know about the insoles but I've just bought some from M&M Direct for a lot cheaper than anywhere else. They are comfortable, warm and waterproof. I love them already, but I wouldn't pay full price for them.

Timberland aren’t indestructible - mine has to be got rid of after admittedly several years use as the sole wore right down and could no longer be resoled. I’ve DM Chelsea boots now on their third winter and showing no signs of wear.

I bought them for DS for Christmas. He says they are really comfy. He has plantars so wears liquid insoles, he went up half a size.

Broguish - thanks for the recommendation I'll have a look

LaPampa - I've had the same problem with xti boots I've had for nearly 3 years, they've been reheeled several times but now they really are falling apart

And - oh okay, I'll try up half then too, thanks

I have a pair and they aren't as good as they used to be. The inner sock around the heel has worn away making them quite uncomfortable and the soles can be slippery on wet tiles.

beguilingeyes · 08/01/2020 16:00

Try them on first. I wanted a pair for years and then found them too heavy for me.

Thanks for all the reviews, positive and negative. I think I'll go and try some out.

I've got 2 pairs of boots & 5 pairs of shoes, I love them. I was super pleased to discover that Timpsons can resole them, admittedly they send them away to a central place (takes around 2 weeks) but it is endorsed by Timberland.
They also do RM Williams and some other prestige brands.
