Hello! I had a very bad acne breakout recently. I’d never tried the healthy mix serum- until today. I usually go for very matte foundations- like double wear. I loved the look of this today, covered well, only to be disappointed it’s now discontinued! Can anybody help with anything similar please?

I saw a big load of Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation in T.J. Hughes today. This is a shop in the North West of England.

If it's in there it might be in B&M Bargains and Home and Bargains too?

It looks like a similar texture to Garnier BB cream. Instant dewy skin!

Try BB cream OP. The Clarins BB serum or the IT Cosmetics 'your skin but better' are both amazing and dewey- very youthful looking.

IT cc cream is wonderful.

There's loads of Healthy Mix on line still and in the shops if our Boots is anything to go by.

It isn’t being discontinued- Bourjois is just withdrawing from the the UK. It will still be made and sold elsewhere. I’m sure some enterprising soul will start importing it and selling it online, or you could nip to France periodically to stock up.

If you do want an alternative, Sali Hughes wrote about exactly this in her guardian column at the weekend and suggested Mac Studio face & body foundation as an alternative to Healthy Mix.

Does Healthy Mix come in lots of colours? I am looking for a cheaper replacement for Erborian CC cream?

I wear rimmels bb cream in the orange tube. I couldn't find it so assumed it had been discontinued but found it on amazon. It's not matte but give a really nice glow.

Vichy dermablend covers pretty much everything but read the instructions carefully as it is very pigmented. I believe you can buy it from Boots. It also gives a nice glowy finish.

Feelunique have Healthy Mix Serum at 30% off, but only two light shades.

It Cosmetics CC or L'Oreal Pro Glow are both lovely and glowy, and Clinique's Even Better Glow sounds good.

Ruth Crilly from AModelRecommends loves a glowy foundation and has lots of reviews here.

I mix Supergoop CC cream with a blob of MAC strobe cream and a drop of oil (I use squalane but any neutral oil will do). Gives a dewy finish and you can adjust coverage. Would work to add glow to any foundation I think.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I got the Garber bb cream. How do you all apply it? Do you rub it in like moisturizer or apply with a brush??

Try it either way and see what works for you. I used to use it like a moisturiser.

Greenvalleymama · 08/01/2020 07:38

I apply with a sponge
