Curated ears - do you have multiple piercings in one or both ears?

Pictures as well please if you don’t mind. I already have double piercings in both lobes and am looking to add a couple more but not sure if I should focus on just one ear.

I have three lobe piercings and planning to get an upper cartilage piercing soon. I find it quite hard to curate my earrings to look good though so really interested to see any photos!

Just doing the right ear because I like the look of multiple piercings just in one ear and practically because I sleep on my left side!

Undies1990 · 06/01/2020 14:33

I have one lobe pierced once and the other lobe pierced three times. I like to be different! I have long hair though so nobody tends to notice.

CherryCheezcake · 06/01/2020 14:54

I have two studs in my left lobe and one in my right. I have never curated anything in my life.

macbooknotpro · 06/01/2020 15:10

focus on just one ear to start - it's way more manageable healing wise and looks edgy. Try pinterest for lots of fun ideas.

icannotremember · 06/01/2020 15:41

r/piercing on reddit has some amazing setups

mrspotatohed · 06/01/2020 15:49

I have double lobes on both ears, on my left ear I have a helix and a tragus ring and on my right ear I have an Industrial/scaffolding bar and a daith ring. I want more but I'm preggo so got to wait!

PurpleDaisies · 06/01/2020 15:50

What’s a “curated ear”? I’ve never heard of that before.

Ginkypig · 06/01/2020 16:17

Iv posted these pictures before on mn but here you go. I have big ears which means there is enough room for more than the average amount of metal Grin

I'm planning on getting a few more on one ear but so far I can't be arsed.

Lots of pics if you search #curatedear on insta. Or the particular piercing ie #contraconch. You can hit the bookmark and save a bunch of the ones you like then narrow it down to the main elements you are after.

I have regular lobe in each and an upper lobe and conch in just one ear (for sleeping purposes). Intend to get some more asymmetric lobe piercings this year. Would love another cartilage piercing but wouldn’t suit my current lifestyle.

ginandgingers92 · 06/01/2020 17:14

I've got 12 across both ears, (17 total on my body) I think I almost have one everywhere you can in the ears, so hopefully the photos will help you pick 🙈
There's 3 inside my right ear, but I want to add a second lobe hole and an upper cartilage (once I'm not preggers; I'm sure they'll refuse to do it) because it looks a bit bare to me!

I have two lobe , my Tragus and a forward helix in one ear . And just two lobe in the other , I tend to wait till fully healed then have another.

Fifteenthnamechange · 06/01/2020 19:00

I love this look. Have double lobe on both sides. Have upper cartilage pierced on one & the forward helix (?) on the other but they're don't have any rings in as my hairdresser always pulls them out!
Want more but expensive innit. Anyone tried home piercing?

MulberryPeony · 06/01/2020 20:26

Never tried at home because my local piercer is ridiculously cheap but obsessed by watching piercing videos.

MitziK · 06/01/2020 22:09

Home piercing? You're fucking insane.

Two lobe, tragus and helix on each side. (plus multiple other piercings).

I'd say get a piercing on one side at a time, because most have a lengthy healing time and are more painful/grumpy than a bog standard lobe piercing - that way you always have a side to sleep on that doesn't hurt.

I have 5 sets on the bottom part of the lobes and one at the top cartilage on the right. I wear very tiny silver hoops in all but the first set (ie the standard ear piercing set most people have). I rarely wear earrings in the first set as they aren’t evenly pierced and my left ear tends to swell a bit and go red if I leave an earring in it longer than a few hours. I keep the rest on my piercings in 24/7 and have no issues.

SouthWestmom · 07/01/2020 01:03

I live the curated war thing. Discussed with my piercer and we decided that people must be doing it post lol the piercings healing as you couldn't go straight to the teeny thin hoops/studs some have.

I have two lobe in each ear, left has forward helix and conch (found a pretty hoop which cost £40 but so much nicer than the original thick metal) and also one that's pretty distinctive so not posting here. The helix and other one are tiny matching sparkles and match the daith on my right.

Also a daith (for migraine) hoop and

zoobincan · 07/01/2020 01:43

I pierced me ears at home with a sewing needle when I was about 14/15 - it hurt like fuck, but those piercings can be left without earrings for months in end and have never even attempted to close up. I think I had earring s in 3 times last year!

missnevermind · 07/01/2020 02:03

I have 5 piercings on the left ear including top cartilage. One piercing only in the right ear. I tend to wear three complete sets of earrings over the two ears I don't know what curated is

ThisIsAllaMooPoint · 07/01/2020 02:19

Thanks all. I think I’ll try one piercing, one ear at a time. Great photos and I love your little three stone one @Violetroselily!

@Fifteenthnamechange please don’t try it at home. I stupidly did when I was 18. I used one of those little white gun things to pierce my upper helix. Not pretty and it got badly infected. I still have a scar which I am hoping will get hidden when I get it professionally done.

Oh and curated is just a fancy word for multiple ear piercings that I think the piercer Maria tash coined lol. I’m obsessed with her jewellery but it is way out of my budget!!

SouthWestmom · 07/01/2020 06:28

Curated was already a word!

I think it's different to just loads of piercings, as in a planned, joined up look.

Pinknbluene · 07/01/2020 11:26

I have 3 lobe piercings on each side and the helix on one side, on the other I'm tempted to get my tragus done.

I don't 'curate' until they've healed, I put up with the stud that they come with until.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 07/01/2020 11:42

curated ear sound like some sort of nouvelle cuisine that Jamie Oliver would be involved in....boiled ham, poached tongue, baked brisket, curated ear.... Shock

I have ears pierced (one each side as a child) then an extra hole in left ear (rebellious student....it was the eighties, I am vair old now!) and I have a rook piercing that I got when I was 50. I was going to get my tragus done, but dd did that before I did, and then I went to get my daith done, but my daiths are pathetic so that was a no go.

The second hole has closed up over the years but I always managed to poke an earring through when it did and have kept it going for the last few years as last time I re did it I heard a little pop noise as the earring went through and it made me feel squiffy

I tend to wear stars/moons/odd but themed studs in the holes and a moon shape in the rook, I keep meaning to get a star instead but cannot find one the right size.
