How to wear a scarf with this coat

I've always had coats with a v-neck. I love this coat but will need a scarf as it looks quite gapy at the neckline, but can't get my head around how to wear one without it being all bulky under the coat! Does that make sense? How would you tie a scarf?

Pick a scarf in very fine silk, and tie it like a men’s cravat. I suppose you could just buy a men’s cravat. :-)
