What do you wear for yoga?

I’ve been doing some You Tube yoga at home but I'm starting classes next week.

I've been wearing primark leggings and a T-shirt - the leggings are see thru and ready for the bin, and the T-shirt is baggy so it rides up and hangs in my face during some moves.

What do you wear? Are there any brands you could recommend? I don't want to spend a fortune but I also don't want to turn up and look like the odd one out in totally inappropriate clothes.

Thanks!

I do Ashtanga yoga. Started at 45.
I wear leggings or loose joggers with elastic at the ankles - I definitely agree with others about checking the view when you bend over and sweat patches! I wear a soft sports bra as I find these more comfortable than normal bras. Tighter tops stop them from flopping over your face in downward dog, a looser top over the top can hide any wobbly bits of self conscious.
I’d also recommend taking a warmer layer to put on for Savasana (lying down at the end), or a blanket.

In Vinyasa I wear soft, low compression high waisted leggings from fabletics or h&m or nike. Then a sports bra (high fronted and high compression or my spaniels ears creep out of the top when upside down) and a tight fitting vest top or tank top. Hot yoga the same minus the top (and my saggy post childbirth belly skin rolling about in all it's glory. I don't care though!)

I wear proper heavy duty yoga leggings but on top I wear Primark cotton/Lycra t shirts. Short sleeved in the summer, long sleeved in the winter.

Thanks for al the suggestions everyone, I'm doing a bit of an online shop now.

@SleepwalkingThroughLife the yoga studio I'm going to has just opened near me, they're doing an offer for January, it's a one off fee of £60 for January - you can go to as many/whatever classes you like all this month (as long as you pre-book). They hold about 20-30 classes a week.

I'm starting the beginners course on Monday which is a very basic 'perfect the moves' type class, but then there are some level 2/ vinyasa/heat classes and a Hatha class 3 evenings a week which I might try!

I hope you enjoy it! I took up yoga last year and love it

Primark had some great sports leggings and tops in recently which I bought and they fit really well. The leggings I got are black / pink, high waisted and slightly above ankle length and definitely not see through at all. Made of polyamide and elastane.

Normal tracksuit type bottoms or cotton leggings are way too hot and sweaty for my liking I have to have decent sweat wicking material.

I really love Decathlon for yoga clothes. I have some 3/4 length yoga 'pants' as well as 3/4 leggings and some good tops that don't ride up. Good value too.

Sweaty Betty's Garudasana pants are the loveliest, softest bottoms ever, I do yoga 3-4 times a week and they're all I wear. Pricey but worth the investment, you can wear them on weekends pottering about too without looking sloppy!
