Problem area around nose

So when I put concealer on around my nose to cover redness (broken capillaries from nose blowing mainly) - it never looks flawless or even. It just sits on top of the pores and seems raised or lumpy. Any tips?

Nope, same here. I was just now attempting concealer on it (as I found some when I had to throw my make up bag out because I'd put it down on a satsuma before Christmas and discovered where the mouldy orange smell was coming from...) but it didn't work.

Oh no poor you @gammeldragz. The visual of you working it did kind make me giggle though!

No idea what my autocorrect did then! Meant throwing make up bag out

Have you tried steaming your face OP? I think it does make your face especially around the nose area smoother if done regularly and therefore makeup goes on better.

Is it under and around your nostrils?
I have the same, sometimes it's a bit sore but it's always red.

The doctor said it's seborrheic dermatitis

Ahh thanks @lifeonaloop. Did you get any tips on how to treat?

Do you exfoliate the area? I used to find that foundation didn't sit right at the side of my nostrils but I started using a glycolic acid toner about a year ago and I've noticed the skin in that area has really improved and therefore makeup looks much better. What kind of skin do you have?

kmini · 04/01/2020 22:58

I alternate between a salicylic and glycolic acid to exfoliate my face. The rest of my face is in pretty good condition - pretty solid routine of am: cleanse, serum, soft, pm: double cleanse, alternate acids, alternate vit c and retinol, nighttime cream. Not breakouts, no dryness elsewhere - but around the nose just looks average!
