Would balayage work if starting to get a few greys?

I’m starting to get a scattering of greys and currently have very blonde highlights on my dark mouse brown hair which I’m not loving.

I love the balayage look and wondered if this would work or would it just look dreadful when the roots started to come through?

When I saw hairdresser she said I wasn’t very grey at all but I can see them and want them covered! Just think my hair looks a mess at the moment and can’t work out what to do.

I had this exact issue. My greys were mostly at the back, with a few strands at the front. The hairdresser did a mix of some lighter foils and a base colour all over the rest in a shade similar to my own natural colour. The finished look is a few shades lighter than my natural colour with strands of gold going through it all over. It looks like it could be mine naturally. I was keen to avoid the stripy highlight look.

I got my hair coloured recently for the first time in years, to cover the first few greys. She did an all over rich red colour, with copper balayage running through. It's worked a treat, and 4 weeks later it still looks great and I've not seen any greys peeking through. Hoping i can manage another 4 weeks before I need a toner, and 8-12 weeks before I need the whole thing doing again.

Yes I have a few greys close to my ears. I have balayage and it's fine.
