Bralette for big norks?

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 04/01/2020 08:55

Just that really.

Am absolutely sick to death of crappy, uncomfortable underwire bras. Would dearly love a bralette but have an odd combo of small shoulders and big boobs. Usually end up in a 34 F/G in a normal bra.

All the bralette I've seen look like they would only work for petite, normally proportioned 20-somethings with pert boobs. Does anyone make a bralette for saggy, 40-something Mummy udders like mine? Want 2020 to be the year I ditch the wire. Recommendations please!!

I'm a 34G with small shoulders too and I bought bralette crop tops in Primark in lots of different colours. I bought them for wearing under nightwear and they're surprisingly supportive and cover the whole breasts. Unfortunately they not cotton but they have an elasticated layer for support then another top layer over that and thin straps.

I feel exactly the same OP and have ordered one from Bravissimo - the Lyzy. www.bravissimo.com/products/lyzy-bra-blushink-
Hasn’t arrived yet but I have my fingers crossed as I’m fed up of wires but not ready yet to turn into my grandma.

Molke. You won't regret it.

Royce are great for non wired bras. They aren't braletes but super comfy.

RhymingRabbit3 · 04/01/2020 09:18

There have been a few bra threads recently. I second the suggestion of molke and lots of people seem to have been converted by the recent threads suggesting them

Trewser · 04/01/2020 09:18

Omg sorry but those Molke bras look hideous. Was looking on here for ideas for dd1 who is similar,.30HH!

Notwiththeseknees · 04/01/2020 09:26

I bought a JML bamboo bralette - front fastening. It was a bargain in the supermarket and I just wanted to try one. Really, really lovely & comfy and supportive.

dontgobaconmyheart · 04/01/2020 09:40

I just wear the stretchy bralette crop tops and size up if necessary (they usually have adjustable straps). Haven't worn Ia bra in years!
Primark/supermarkets usually sell several different kinds of non wired no seam braleete so it's worth trying one one in there at least before shelling out. TK maxx also usually sell several.

M&S do a fuller bust bralette in lace which is nice, if you wanted something 'prettier'. not as comfy as the stretchy ones though and again, I have to size up.

The molke bras are not for me I'm afraid, they look like someone has repurposed a pair of boxer shorts!

TyrannosaurusHex · 04/01/2020 09:40

I bought the DD+ bralette [[https://www.marksandspencer.com/louisa-lace-longline-dd-bralet/p/clp60270928?image=SD_02_T81_8200D_Y0_X_EC_90&color=BLACK&prevPage=srp#intid=prodColourId-60270928]] in many colours and wear them almost exclusively. I went up a size to accommodate my FF/G boobs and they are great. Very comfortable, very supportive. I won’t go back to wires now.

I'm pretty sure DS had boxers in the Dino fabric when he was about 7/8!

Notanotheruser111 · 04/01/2020 10:32

The lyzy is a very small fitting back FWIW. I’m a 34 and it is really firm. I bought that and the Zara which is more comfortable but I still find I end up with sweaty boobs squished in the center.

Trewser · 04/01/2020 10:58

Also, why are all the molke models overweight? Dd is not overweight, she just has big boobs. Annoying that there's never anyone with her body shape!!

XXcstatic · 04/01/2020 11:10

Cosabella. I'm 30E and had given up hope of finding a non-wired bra that was supportive enough but comfortable. The Cosabella curvy bralettes are amazing. I wouldn't go for a hike in them but, for work etc, they are supportive enough & comfortable.

Go for the ones you pull over your head, the more traditional bras are not as comfortable.

milliefiori · 04/01/2020 11:13

I know lots of people swear by the Molkes but lord, they are ugly. They say they pride themselves on their bright colours. Why? I don't want my bra to be a clashing conversation stopper. I want it to be a subtle, grown up bit of underwear.

Mrsjayy · 04/01/2020 11:15

I bought some from primark as Iam sick of uncomfy bras they are comfortable and supportive ive been living in them all month.

FredaFrogspawn · 04/01/2020 11:16

My new Dino molke is lovely and so comfortable but I agree- not glamorous. But it’s great in some contexts, just as pretty underwired lacy bras are too.

I prefer comfort over aesthetics these days.

CointreauVersial · 04/01/2020 11:17

God, those Molke bras are hideous!

Trewser · 04/01/2020 12:02

I think dd would have burst into tears if I'd sent her the link to molke. Thank god i checked first.

nc18 · 04/01/2020 12:08

All of the photos are hideous on that Molke site regardless of the size/shape model. Don't get her one of those Shock

lotusbell · 04/01/2020 12:11

I always find with bralets the wider ribcage band always ends up rolling up under my boobs and becoming uncomfortable. I'm a 36dd (probably not, really) and have a few of the lacy ones from M&S, they're ok and quite supportive. I also like their Flexifit ones, look like a crop top/cami but with cups inside.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/01/2020 13:37

The bravissimo Zara is the best I've found for small back big cup

VirtualHamster · 04/01/2020 14:24

Would second that, I'm a 30f and even styles that are advertised as for fuller busts don't have a band small enough whilst having enough material in the bust. The zara isn't perfect but miles better than anything else I've tried. Sad that I didn't discover it whilst they still had other colours in my size.

EnglishRain · 04/01/2020 14:27

I'm a 30E and got some Sloggi zero feel bralettes recently which are fab. Supportive enough that I'll leave the house in one. Could be worth a go. There were some reduced to clear for £15 in John Lewis.

Ribeebie · 04/01/2020 14:27

I got some of the DD+ bralettes from M&S as I'm breastfeeding and got fed up of ugly bras. They have been supportive and washed well so far.

Frouby · 04/01/2020 14:34

I like royce non wired bras for underneath my slouching at home clothes. I still wear my old maternity bra mainly. Ds is 6 now so I have definitely had my moneys worth 😂😂
