Interview outfit

I'm due to have my first interview in about 15 years and I'm returning to work after a couple of years out. So I'm feeling a little out of touch with what I should be wearing!

It's in a corporate environment with a very well known firm so I know it needs to be smart. I will need a complete new outfit. At the minute I live in tunics and leggings so have 0 style haha.

I'm a large size 8...I say large because I'm petite and don't carry weight well.

Any suggestions welcome!

What’s your budget? For somewhere corporate I’d provably go to Reiss and buy a fairly safe suit.

Approx £100, I could stretch for the right thing. I'm not sure if I'd need a suit for the role. Well not full time anyway. I have a blazer, would a dress to go with this be ok?

Yes, a smart dress and blazer would be nice. What colour is the blazer? You could take it with you to John Lewis or somewhere else with a personal shopping department. They’ll help find something to go with it.

I would say some wide leg well cut trousers and a posh silk blouse.

Smart flat black patent shoes, and blazer.

PretzelPrincess · 04/01/2020 09:35

The blazer is black so I was thinking a solid colour under.

Are people wearing flats or heels these days?

Deffo a dress and nice blazer and shoes with a not too high heel, smarter than flat. Before Christmas I seen some lovely smart work dresses in Matalan and Tesco that looked way more expensive than what they actually were. Next is also a good shout budget wise. Grey with the black blazer would be nice and safe or stand out and go red. Good luck OP, hope it goes well for you x
