Adult Swimsuit with poppers?

Mafitz · 02/01/2020 22:45

Hi I'm planning ahead for our summer holidays this year and I'm wondering if anyone has found a swimsuit that has poppers in the crotch area (ie a bodysuit but for swimming). I've got a weak bladder and due to poor flexibility find it difficult taking a swimsuit on and off several times a day. Tankinis work but I find it difficult to take the top off and on as they are generally a tight fit and come off over my head. Anyone have any ideas, I know they do them for kids but can't think why they don't do them for adults...🤔🤔🤔

Could you just pull the crotch bit to the side to pee?

BestOption · 02/01/2020 23:01

Because all your bits would end up poking through the gaps between the poppers surely?

Of course a ranking top comes iff over your head. How else?! & so what 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tankini or just pull the gusset to the side like most of us do

TARSCOUT · 02/01/2020 23:06

Pull gusset to side!

milkysmum · 02/01/2020 23:13

Oh gosh no, a swim suit with poppers would not work would it surely!?
All you need to do is pull the gusset to the side anyway, not take the whole thing off.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 03/01/2020 07:33

But what if it came unpopped? ShockBlush

Go with a strapless tanking or one with a halter neck so it can be peeled down your body.

I wear surf or men's swim shorts, the type with the inner mesh, much more comfortable for me and easier to get off and on.

There is a website called Fledglings and they have a loose fitting tankini?

Pinknbluene · 03/01/2020 09:42

Pulling the gusset to the side was a revelation to me, I couldn’t believe I’d reached the age of 40 before discovering that it was a thing to do.

DottieLottie1 · 03/01/2020 10:13

Erm, as other have said you dont take it off just pull it to one side 😂

Lamentations · 03/01/2020 12:05

Imagine the risks involved in going down a water slide in a cossie with poppers.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 03/01/2020 12:06

Surely nobody takes the swimsuit off? You just scootch the gusset over to one side when you sit.

Trumpton · 03/01/2020 12:25

Does this remind anyone else of the classic thread “” Your minge!”

gingersausage · 03/01/2020 12:57

Surely you don’t have to take a tankini top off and on several times a day though. Put it on once, take it off once. I’m not sure how you would get into a swimsuit it you can’t get into a tankini.

Maybe swimshorts and a rash guard would be a better combination.

CatalogueUniverse · 03/01/2020 13:00

I also was in my 40s before finding out about the side hoick. Life changing.

PullingMySocksUp · 03/01/2020 13:03

I can pull my tankini up over my bum.
I find my Boden one an absolute pig to get on. A cheaper Asda one isn’t so scaffolded and substantial and is easier.
But yes, pull the crotch to the side. Smile

thenightsky · 03/01/2020 13:05

I'd be terrified of poppers popping when I bent over. I'm long of body and swimsuits are stretched to their limit anyway. Shock

Side hoik of crotch area or tankini. You don't need to take the top off a tankini to wee surely?

Cohle · 03/01/2020 13:07

Bit high risk surely?!

I'm not sure why a tankini is more difficult than a swimsuit really? Surely you aren't taking the top bit on and off that often and it's not really any tighter than the top half of a swimsuit.

gingersausage · 03/01/2020 13:08

Interesting first post by the way...

BinkyandBunty · 03/01/2020 13:11

A bikini?

With a zip front rash vest on top if you don't like your middle exposed.

bruffin · 03/01/2020 13:33

a tankini is perfect. especially from somewhere like fatface where you can buy top and bottoms separately and therefore different sizes if need be.
And poppers are really hard to do up. Ive got a bodyshaper thing and the poppers ping open and difficult to do back up

MzHz · 03/01/2020 13:49

Being old enough to have worn the ‘bodies’ the first time around, I can recall with horror the moment 1 popper, then another goes.... leaving one single popper standing between you and a wayward gusset!

Don’t even think about buying this! Get a normal swimsuit and scootch it over whenever you need to!

I’m a swimmer, I spend hours and hours a week in my suit and have never needed to take it off to pee!

Wow, bit of a pileon to the OP, this is S&B not AIBU folks. The OP has said she has flexibility issues, maybe getting a wet tankini top off is harder for her than normal and pulling the gusset aside might not be sufficient if e.g. she has IBS.

I don't think there will be much of a market for swimsuits with poppers so it'll probably be hard to find one ready made. Sure you could get a seamstress to make one for you though, although that's not a cheap option. Alternatively you could wear swim shorts and a bikini top which might be easier to take on and off. Or I wonder if you could get a tankini top with a zip down the front?

Destinesia · 03/01/2020 14:57

I step into my all my tankini tops, the same way that you'd put on a one-piece (or a one-piece with a poppered gusset) and step out to take off, it doesn't need to go over your head Confused

CountFosco · 03/01/2020 15:17

Do you step into tshirts as well?
