Really, really long lasting primer

If you are a person with oily skin who needs medium- full foundation coverage and has a nose which in winter just wants to channel Rudoplh... what primer do you use?

MUA used to do a cheap but genuinely mattifying one in a pink tube but I can't find it anywhere any more; and it wasn't my fave as it was so mattifying that it would make the occasional flaky bits around my nose really stand out. My go to these days is L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer (the one in the see through squeezy tube, not the weird shots). I ran out this week and have just looked in the mirror and my foundation is basically gone after just 5 hours on my face, proving that the apparently fabulous Revolution Conceal & Fix one I was persuaded to buy yesterday is not fabulous at all.

So what's the best? I don't need it to deal with the redness, I have large pores but am not overly bothered about a primer that minimises them, I just want something that genuinely keeps oil at bay and doesn't leave me barefaced by dinnertime. I'd rather not pay loads but will do for something guaranteed to work. My usual foundation is Revlon Colorstay in case that matters...

Have you tried ELF or Nyx?

Benefit PoreFessional is an excellent primer.

It's light weight, but blurs imperfections, helps oily skin and my foundation doesn't move.

I have a major problem with an oily forehead and sweaty upper lip.
I use the primer, then my foundation, then a loose powder to 'bake' the skin.
My makeup lasts for hours.

You can use any loose powder for baking, too.

I use a collection 2000 one at the minute.

Google or YouTube 'baking'. So easy to do, takes minutes and is revolutionary for oily skin.

Oh, just to add - loose translucent powder Grin

Sorry to be spamming your post, this is something I have spent blood, sweat and tears into getting right.
I'm quite passionate about it Grin

Thank you Bauble! I will look that up properly tonight :)

I haven't, Grumpy, but will read up on them now.

Benefit Porefessional is good. Before Christmas I bought Maybelline Baby Face Instant pore earaser primer, in a rush. It's v cheap but in fairness it's possibly as good as the Porefessional at a fraction of the cost.

Bare Minerals primer - I use the illuminating one but they also have a matt version.

Bare Minerals Mineral Veil - Original.

Urban Decay - setting spray.

Never failed me yet!

...Along with regular makeup, to clarify. I used to fly as long haul cabin crew. This would keep my makeup on for the duration...
