Make up makeover? I look like a witch

Help! I'm going on 40, two small children and I look like a haggard crone. To top it all, what little make up was left behind when I went away recently.

Should I go to a make up thing in a department store, or a normal shop like body shop, or a beauty salon?! Or is there somewhere I can go on the internet for a proper guide?

Watch YouTube videos and buy the products they use cos then you can see which products you like on :)

Hi OP, what in particular are you looking for guidance on, eg how to cover up dark circles under eyes / how to just look a bit more polished, etc?
In my experience, going to a counter in a department store isn’t worth it - the assistants there are primarily trying to sell you stuff, and as much of it as possible.
You’ll prob end up with a few things you like and that make a difference, but also with stuff that doesn’t really suit you or work, and have prob been pressured into buying.
One brand can’t possibly fulfill all the needs of every customer.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that the higher end brands are always the best either.
Plus, the ladies who work on the beauty counters aren’t always trained makeup artists, so you could end up looking worse.

I think it’s better to look online on tutorials by trained makeup artists with cheats/tricks on the things you need help with.
There are thousands of makeup tutorials on YouTube on every single aspect of makeup application and skincare, it’s just working out which suit you best.

I've found the tutorials on beauty and the boutique to be really useful (they pop up on my Facebook but there is a website too). I'm a similar age to you and not at all experienced with make up!
