Restyling a brown skirt

I used to wear a lot of brown in the mid 2000.
I have a white stuff skirt. It’s brown with a bit of red on it. Now in the past I would have worn it with brown tights and brown shoes and possibly a brown jumper
It all feels too brown these days. I’m not good with coloured tights really. It doesn’t go with black and red would make me look mad I think.
It’s definitely a winter skirt and I would like some wear out of it.
Any ideas?

Burnt orange? Or taupe?

Keep to brown or skin coloured tights and brown boots but add a burnt orange tight roll neck jumper.

I think if you ger the tones right you can pair brown with grey.

Ochre yellow? Depending on the shade of brown, what about mauve, navy or grey?

I do tend to think brown is very 2000's and possibly a little bit dated now. Is it a-line by any chance? I had many an a line brown cord skirt that I wore with brown knee high boots back in 2004!

How much red is in it? I'd wear a red jumper or blouse with it and then brown boots and nude tights.

Yes A line. A good shape on me, and was fairly expensive. Enough that I don’t want to get rid quite yet. I’ve got rid of quite a lot of stuff from that era.
I think if it was just brown it would be better, the red in it throws it a little.
2004...so much brown....

Pale blue or pale green?

I reckon hang on to it for another 5 years and a-lines will make a resurgence. Obviously it's all about the midi at the moment but I think a-lines will be the shape after that. At least I hope so, I used to love a cord/denim a-line skirt and knee high boots combo.
