Where should I shop? Work knitwear..

I only shop online.

I am trying to find good quality but machine washable smart black or navy knitwear for work.

I like crew or high v necks. Close fitting so I can wear under a suit jacket when needed, and long enough to be over my hips, rather than near my waist. Must be full long sleeves - I'm skinny so look ridiculous in 3/4 sleeves.

It's really hard!

I usually do all my shopping in Banana Republic (but they've got nothing suitable at the moment), Hobbs (ditto) and Boden (but the quality has gone downhill significantly recently so I've given up on them).

I dabble with Phase Eight, various John Lewis options and M&S occasionally but always disappointed and they are not quite me.

I don't have much shape beyond "stick" so Next and the like too shapeless.

I would love suggestions as to where else I should look. I feel as if it shouldn't be this hard!! The world looks stylish and I look a scruff!

LandsEnd? Good quality basics and no quibble returns. I've bought basics for work from there.

I got some fab jumpers from H&M for work, wash really well and fit great!

I'm 5'10 and gap is long enough for me!

I know you mentioned M&S, but I got a lovely plain black merino crew neck there just before Christmas.

Another one saying Uniqlo or Jigsaw, also the John Lewis own brand lines like the collection or weekend lines. Have got some lovely merino in Massimo Dutti and Cos as well.

Do you have an independent department store or boutique near you? They often have smaller labels that have knitwear, we have one in my town that carries labels like Betty Barclay and Whistles that often throws up some good stuff unexpectedly.

Curious where you work where everyone is wearing Reiss and judgy if you aren't! (Unless you work for Reiss )

Just to add about Gap, they run large. I'm a size 10 and I wear XS sweaters there.

The few things I wear most are all Great Plains. All bought randomly and in sales but firm favourites

I've ordered some from Uniqlo and from Gap and will assess when they arrive.

@Xiaoxiong It's a mid sized office specialising in marketing and some AI work. Mainly people in their thirties with a lot of disposable cash, who look like The Kooples adverts!
