Where to buy work clothes?

I'm a size 8/10 but on maternity leave. Going back in Autumn and wanting to overhaul my work wardrobe. I work in quite a stuffy office environment - so smart dresses and suits are what I will concentrate on. I want to invest in a smaller number of outfits that don't need much ironing. I will budget around £1,500 to £2,000. Where would people recommend me to look?

Thanks and happy New Year!

I always find Next is good for work stuff to be honest

Mixture of Hobbs for jackets and dresses with a bit of Boden and LK Bennett. I quite like autograph too.

Fold looks nice if you have money.

The Fold is exactly the kind of style I'm looking for - smart and tailored - but for the price I think the materials look of low quality. The budget is about right but I'm not keen to spend £300 on a polyester dress.

I find Uniqlo good for simple work tops, (rayon) shirts etc as well as their trousers. I mix these with more expensive bits from Hobbs, whistles and maybe Cos. I moved away from suits a while ago and tend to look for nice jackets to pair with simple trousers or skirts.
My must haves are:
Good quality black pencil skirt e.g. Hobbs
7/8ths grey trousers e.g. Uniqlo or Boden
7/8 black trousers
Longline blazer
Cropped jacket x 2 (not black)
Good dress x 2 e.g. cos or whistles
non patterned tops, some that can be tucked in and others to wear loose that can be mixed with skirt, trousers and jackets
Also, if you can save on some things, get one very special pair of killer black heals like louboutins. They make any outfit.
On the ironing thing, you’ll be fine with most Uniqlo things if you hang them to dry carefully, but consider a hand held steamer for going over things quickly of a morning.

Interesting you say that (and thanks for recommendations so far) re hand held steamer as I have been thinking of buying one- so any suggestions for those gratefully received!

I like Hobbs for days I need to be smarter. Also have a few things from Jigsaw.
In the summer Boden dresses I often find are just smart enough but I do not tend to wear a jacket every day.

I think the Fold is awful. I have friends in very senior roles, QC’s who wouldn’t wear it as it’s too frumpy
