Sticking out bra underwires

AdalbertWaffling · 30/12/2019 21:17

I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about, but when the underwires in your bra break through the fabric and make their way up to dig into your skin - I always end up with a hand down my top trying to push them back in. Is there any way to fix it once this happens? I can't imagine how to sew them back in, but maybe there's a way to do it? Any tips?

I usually just remove it and downgrade my bra to around the house.

I don't know of any way to fix it once they're out.

Most likely cause is that you're not washing them correctly and the wires are getting bashed in the machine. Use a protective bag on delicates cycle and never dry them on a radiator. If you can be bothered, handwashing jn cold water is best of all.

It may also be that the bras do not fit you which is putting strain on them. Most people wear cups too small and back too big. Some styles also don't suit all boobs. A proper fitting service might help.

Bras are the most complex garment to make, they need a bit of looking after! I'm a ridiculous size and so mine are expensive and tricky to buy, therefore I look after them!

Super glue works

If they are good/favourite bras, then I would sew the wire back in. It’s not tricky.

This has never happened to me, I'm 99% sure it's due to wearing the wrong size bra.
