Items you've bought from an unexpected shop?

I've not explaining that in my title very well. I mean where have you bought something that you love/been looking for, from a shop that you don't normally shop in? Somewhere unexpected?

I got the most lovely pair of jeans I think I've ever had in Sainsburys a couple of years ago and I've never found pair to fit better!

About 10 years ago I bought a pair of George jeans and got loads of compliments on them. I haven't seen any that I liked in there since.

The Tu range has lots of good things.

I hardly ever buy things in Tesco but have had compliments on some short dungarees bought NWT in a charity shop for £2

I found years ago the most lovely knee length black kookai coat with an asymmetrical (dipped) hem in of all places sports direct [hmmm] it was just hidden among the trackie tops. I was looking for socks and found that.

This was before we found out sports direct was the horror it is obviously, I don't shop there now.

I've found a lot of amazing clothes in Asda, to the point that even though I don't have one near me anymore, I will still make the effort to go and have a mooch round the clothes section. So many people write off supermarket brand clothing, and they shouldn't!

DD bought a huge M&S men’s lambswool and cashmere jumper at a second hand clothes fundraising table at St Thomas’s when we were there for an appointment. She’s lived in that jumper ever since and it looks great on her in skinny jeans with the sleeves rolled up.

My favourite scarf came from a street hawker in Amsterdam thirty years ago.

99% of my clothing comes from charity shops these days and I have quite a few items that are originally from shops I would never have considered for clothes. Some proper ‘old lady’ brands or Places that I would consider as cheap fast fashion that would fall apart easily.
My current wardrobe favourites are a full length grey wool coat originally from planet. Black leather lace up pixie boots originally from K shoes. A cardigan originally from Eastex. Jeans originally from new look. I also have a few (men’s) jumpers with the tag AW85 which I love. Not 100% sure but I think that’s a matalan brand.

I got two pairs of black jeans in Peacocks. They were the most perfect jeans, the holy grail of jeans, perfect fit, perfect stretchiness and lovely smooth fabric. One pair is worn out and the other is on its way. They still have the same jeans, but 'new improved fabric and fit' which means the fabric is now cheap rough shite and they don't fit right 😭
I also have a third different pair with three buttons, that suit me so well, I managed to get another pair of these on eBay and I save these for best.

I got a fairisle jumper from Cotton Traders last year and everyone admires it. I've now got 3 more. They keep their shape, don't bobble and I don't think they look like they're from a catalogue out the back of the TV Guide... which is what I always thought about CT! I'm also an XS as they are unisex. Bonus.

I've had some lovely things from Peacocks.

My favourite ever jeans were from Monsoon. Zips at the ankle, softest mateial, great fit (overweight and apple tummy).

Some simple boat neck long sleeve tops in Morrisons. Great quality, £6 each and so versatile.
