How to style zaggora trousers?

Recently discovered this brand through lurking on this board and excitedly bought a pair of apartment pants, I'm fed up with only skinny jeans to wear and I'm quite paranoid about my hip/thigh area so always struggled to find tops that hid them. Love the look of these trousers and love what the models wear with them - tees and trainers, but am now at a loss what else I could wear with them if I couldn't wear trainers? Anyone stylish out there that could give me a few ideas? I'm average height, 10/12 size and usually just wear jeans and T-shirt's/jumpers --as I don't have a clue what else to wear

Any advice welcome!

Any flat shoe would look fine with them - ballet flats, pointy flats, a lighter lace-up shoe. I’m not a huge fan of trainers with everything, but I like the style of more open shoe with a trainer-like sole - this kind of thing: www.styletread.com.au/oclem-black-leather.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImqikpq3c5gIVWQ4rCh33AwNFEAQYAiABEgLWyfD_BwE

Are you 80? No yo those shoes

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 30/12/2019 04:50

Everyone has their own taste. It’s a suggestion, not a prescription.

Jiggy16 · 30/12/2019 22:17

Thanks for the advice so far! Even tops I don't know what to really wear with them? All suggestions welcome! C

Could you add a jacket to the tee shirt and trainers look?

NotTheChef · 31/12/2019 04:04

Have you got a link to the trousers?

MayorPrentiss · 31/12/2019 08:15

I just ordered some too. Similar build to you. Planning on white trainers in winter, probably my trusty toms when the weather improves. On top I think probably slimmer fitting stuff to balance out the bigger trousers - long sleeve tees tucked in, maybe silk shirts, lightweight merino knits...and a leather biker over the top. That's the plan in my head anyway! Wait until I do the school run and chuck on whatever!

gingersausage · 31/12/2019 08:21

Aren’t the trousers just expensive yoga pants? I don’t know if I’m missing something but I don’t know how you could “style” them with anything other than trainers as they just seem a bit “emperors new clothes” to me. If they were £10 from Primark would people still be raving over them?

MayorPrentiss · 31/12/2019 08:46

gingersausage I'll report back when mine arrive. I work from home and expensive yoga pants sounds right up my street so I'm afraid your snide comments haven't put me off in the least!

MayorPrentiss · 31/12/2019 09:12

How funny - they just arrived and you were right gingerpig consider my words eaten. Really not the quality I was expecting and far too big (I'm usually a very average 10). Plus the 'free' returns aren't free if you want a refund. Definitely not going for them again, just need to find myself some decent expensive yoga pants now...

gingersausage · 31/12/2019 10:30

Honestly @MayorPrentiss I wasn’t being snide, I was trying to be funny and it didn’t come across very well Blush. I just feel like it’s been another well planted, thinly veiled “advert” that unfortunately has snagged people who, like you, were looking for something smart and comfy. The brand has been everywhere and I just have a suspicious mind Wink.

oohnicevase · 31/12/2019 17:22

Is it the wide leg jersey ones ? I'd wear a find knit jumper or polo and trainers with a biker or aviator jacket .

PhonicTheHedgehog · 31/12/2019 17:27

I had my eye on these but they are very expensive. I’m quite glad they’re poor quality as now I don’t have to bother. Where can I get decent yoga pants in black and grey that don’t cost a fortune and aren’t shiny?

MayorPrentiss · 31/12/2019 18:31

Yes gingersausage they've been all over the place. I'm happy to pay more for 'luxury' sports/loungewear as I live in it most of the time, but it seems like they have done a good job of styling for the ads and they weren't what I expected. OP have yours arrived yet? What do you think?

Phonic I have a lovely thick pair of navy joggers/yoga pants from Petit Bateau - sure they must do black and grey too. Might look at the Sweaty Betty sale too.

ZaraW · 01/01/2020 10:08

Alo Yoga always have a good selection and Beyond Yoga. Quality is excellent.

PhonicTheHedgehog · 01/01/2020 16:45

I’ll have a look at those brands, thanks.

tigerbear · 01/01/2020 16:51

I got the ‘runway’ pant from them, and totally agree with OP and @gingersausage - really bad quality and fit, and just like the £15 tracksuit/fitness pants I’ve already got from M&S. Def not worth the money, and too long to wear with trainers. Not a clue what I’d actually wear them with. Couldn’t be bothered sending them back, so they’re hidden in a drawer. One of my worst purchases.

Writersblock2 · 04/01/2020 15:48

I really like their apartment pants. I wear them all the time to work and they’ve really lasted. I tend to wear them with Hush tops. But I’m not in the least bit stylish.

Jiggy16 · 05/01/2020 01:56

Ahh sorry I didn't get any updates so thought no one had replied Confused yea I'm pretty disappointed in the trousers too, much thinner than I thought. Gutted as I really wanted something other than skinny jeans or leggings that would look nice, smart casual for trainers etc but not the usual black work trousers 😫

Flip I didn't realise returns were a pain! Typical! Was my first 'nicer' purchase. Most of my clothes are supermarket, primark or new look. Was hoping by spending a bit more I would get good quality. So any other suggestions welcome!

Weren't these invented in an episode of Friends? Hmm

Kravarza · 13/01/2020 19:26

I haven't got a link to the type of Zagorra trousers, but if there the trousers I would go for a biker boot with a nice chunky sole, and in the summer flatform Converse or DM chunky sole sandals. If there the yoga pants again Converse, but I would avoid chunky soles as their supposed to be sporty.

Velvetrevolution · 13/01/2020 19:28

Just bought appartment pant too, fairly underwhelmed, thin, shiny material. May be too late to return.

Hoppinggreen · 13/01/2020 19:30

Get some Baujken neath pants instead
