Dressing teenage DD for a funeral

My dad very unexpectedly passed away on Friday and I need to find an outfit for 13 year old DD for the funeral.
Her school uniform is red so not appropriate and she normally wears leggings and hoodies.
I have a budget of £40.

Sorry to hear about your dad. My DD wore a navy polo, navy coat, black skirt, tights and chelsea boots for my dad's. If you want a dress how about this one in new look wiht black tights and shoes/boots?

I would go black dress with tights (long sleeves)
And a cardigan over... does she have a black or dark coat to wear?

Not everyone wears black at funerals nowadays. I assume her uniform is smart. Would your dad want you spending money on something she might not wear again?

Some nice chunky tights/ flat shoes and a warm coat too.

My Mother passed recently. My DD wore black leggings and a simple Black dress from Dorothy Perkins (£6 in Sale). Black coat. My mother stipulated black before she died. She was very traditional.

Either of those dresses would be fine. DD2 was 12 when my aunt died and she wore a dark grey dress with small black flower print, black tights, boots and black cardigan. DD1 wore her black orchestra dress.

I am sorry for your loss. I think sudden and unexpected deaths are the hardest to deal with.

At my mum's funeral most of my nieces wore black skinny jeans, boots and a long cardigan or coat. In fact that's what I wore.
