Recommend a make up consultation (please)

Going for a meal for my 40th and would love to have my make up done (/consultation) beforehand. I don’t wear a lot of makeup so don’t want anything OTT. We have a couple of major department stores locally - are there any of the makeup brands you’d recommend please?
