I’ve read that lactic acids 5% + AHA is the mildest chemical exfoliant and helps congestion. It says to put on in the evening but do I use it like a toner? And use a lot of product? Or smooth it on where I most need it and then apply Buffet etc? I thought my night time regime could be cleanser, lactic, buffet, granactive retinol. Does this sound ok? In the morning it’ll be cleanser, buffet, moisturiser. Is this all ok? I’m 50 with ok ish skin but have blocked pores on chin & nose but never spots, I’ve fine lines etc.

Use it like a toner and just use a small amount. If your skin isn’t used to chemical exfoliants then it may sting a but until you do get used to it. Be sure to wear spf too.

I use glycolic acid but only 2 or 3 times a week. Everyday may be a bit much. I think niacinamide may be good for you with you saying you have some blocked pores as it regulates sebum production and really brightens and plumps. I’d also recommend hyaluronic acid

I'm going to be getting the retinol 2%. I currently have some revolution retinol 0.5% but I have read quite a bit about the ordinary products and they seem very reasonably priced. Their 2% is cheaper than revolution 0.5%! I use glycolic toner which I like. I hope other people will please post about any other the ordinary products they use because there are so many!

I use Hyaluronic acid 2% and Buffet in the mornings - I alternate these two. Then moisturiser (I don't use TO) on top of whichever. I use about half the "dropper" whenever I use it. Evenings I alternate between Retinol 1% and Vitamin C 30% (the latter stings a bit), again use sparingly and followed by moisturiser. I sometimes but not always use their Rose hip oil before bed.

I'm also 50 with ok skin but do occasionally get spots on my chin.

@Lobsterquadrille2 do you find that the buffet & hyrolonic combo goes bobbly? I don’t know how to explain it but when I used that combo it just piled, went bobbly. IYKWIM?

Ah!! Ignore me! You alternate them... sorry!

If you go onto their website, they will email you with products needed for your skin concerns and what order to put them in. This is what I did over a month ago and my skin has never been better!

The Ordinary is owned by DECIEM. I've added the link for you to contact them. It takes a couple of days for a reply. Hope this helps Smile

@Snowglobes 😀. I probably wouldn't use them together - I'm pretty clueless but I buy my products from the branch of Fenwick in my town, and a very helpful assistant there has been on various courses (ok, so she says) and has recommended this combination for my age and skin. I nearly bought something more expensive and she said not to bother, so it's not all about sales (I hope!).
