Dressing gown holy grail!

I'm looking for a dressing gown that is soft/silky on the outside but has towelling lining. My current towelling one is too heavy. Any help gratefully received!

I'm watching closely! My M & S one is now a fairly murky white, but I love the towelling inside for when I get out of the shower. DH thinks there are millions of dressing gown available, and just doesn't get that there really aren't in the combination I want. Grin Nice to see I'm not on my own!

Following! So many dressing gowns are horribly fleecy material.

I'm joining the wait for dressing gown wisdom. I'm just retiring a rather exhausted looking Joules number, it's been good but I want better.

Sometimes the H+M home section has nice ones, ie not fleecy. The home section seems to be a bit higher end in terms of fabrics compared to the rest of the shop.

I don't have any specific recommendations as I prefer plain cotton but you could definitely take a look there.

I got DD a lovely towelling bathrobe for Christmas from Christy towels. It's like velour on the outside. It's also a very bright purple, though there are quite a few less bright colours.

Watching with interest. As you can see from my username, a good dressing gown is very high on my list of priorities!! Grin

My current one is Costco, but is very thick and heavy.

My OH got me one from here and it's gorgeous

Thanks for those suggestions I will check them out. I was imagining something like the picture but with a toweling lining.

Buy the one you like as pictured and go to local fabric shop and buy thin terry fabric and take to local seamstress to line the inside.

Gosh the Ark ones are pretty!

GreyHare · 29/12/2019 20:36

Not silky on the outside but I love the White Company Hooded Toweling robes, they wash up so well and never die.

Jakadaal · 29/12/2019 22:18

I have the white company velour towelling one but it's too heavy and hot.

lulu those Ark ones are beautiful
Any idea on the sizing (it's says one size and I tend to go for a L/XL)
