What are your favourite lesser known brands?

In 2020, I want to wear a wider variety of brands. Two I've picked up here recently are Nancyandmac and cefinn

Does anyone have others to suggest?

I quite like the classic look with a bit of a twist. Like both more modern looks as well as romantic/natural. All are well tailored though.

This is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm currently obsessed with a brand called Totême. Way too in love with these 2 pieces specifically: this top images.toteme-studio.com/uploads/2019/10/13_Liry_White_091-1.jpg and this coat images.toteme-studio.com/uploads/2019/10/Toteme_PS20_Annecy_Jacket_Grey_009.jpg

That's definitely a site for me to bookmark
Thanks @thedevilwearspantsuits

Toteme is incredible but sadly a bit beyond my budget 😭

HundredMilesAnHour · 28/12/2019 21:58

I mention this brand a lot on here and someone once assumed it was the brand spamming. It wasn't. It was just me, their superfan lol.

Great tailoring, unusual/beautiful fabrics, mainly limited editions. They sell online but I believe Fenwick in Bond St has just started selling them too. They only started in Sept but I've bought tons of their clothes as they fit me really well. I get lots of compliments.

I'm also a huge fan of currently hip brand Nanushka (particularly for the vegan leather).

Palomes looks awesome - bookmarking. There’s a shop near me that stocks some of their items I think?! Thanks.

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/12/2019 23:03

Not sure about clothes but I absolutely love Yoshi bags.

Brand2020 · 29/12/2019 17:59

I know you someone who'll love that site. Thanks @IHaveBrilloHair

Any more label suggestions?

ZaraW · 29/12/2019 18:16

Ryan Roche and & Daughter but only in the sales. Both so amazing knitwear.

nitgel · 29/12/2019 18:19

I quite like free people at the moment

Brand2020 · 29/12/2019 18:37

Thanks Zara and nitgel

I've bookmarked & daughter and free people. Ryan Roche is out of my budget but am sure someone else will appreciate it

So much of current fashion is straight cut. I really need clothes for hourglass, well apple at the moment. Annoyingly I don't particularly want to dress in the vintage look that is much better for curves! I know I can get clothes tailored but that's a bit annoying too when clothes aren't cheap in the first place..

Sparklyring · 29/12/2019 18:46

I like Evolve for beauty. The glow face mask is unreal and the orange lip balm is yum.

VeniceBeach · 29/12/2019 18:50

I really love the style of Cefinn clothes but they’re just to expensive for me, does anyone know a similar brand?

GinandGingerBeer · 29/12/2019 19:30

Ooh I like the look of Palones. Reminds me of Cos. It's reasonably priced and looks good quality. I'm sick of the high street at the minute, I'm after some casual stuff that had a bit of an edge without being too OTT.

slipperyeel · 29/12/2019 19:42

Hands of Tym - no connection with them whatsoever but my gorgeous handmade bucket bag is my favourite of many bags

dkl55 · 29/12/2019 19:49

Loads! Ba&sh; Reformation; Leon & Harper; Sezane; Rouje; Pyrus; Bellerose; Ganni; Nanushka... the high street is so boring! Shops online like Selfridges, the Mercantile and the Dressing Room have great mid priced options.

dkl55 · 29/12/2019 19:51

Also Nice Things (Paloma S) and Paloma Wool

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 30/12/2019 03:00

I’m currently deciding which of their dresses I want. I love the cloaks, but not very practical for me.

Brands2020 · 30/12/2019 06:52

Oh this is brilliant. Thanks everyone

Brands2020 · 30/12/2019 06:55

@dkl55 I agree the high Street is a so boring. I've found netaporter does sometimes offer mid price ranges but it's great to know online shops that offer visibility to smaller brands

dkl55 · 30/12/2019 09:54

@Brands2020 - too right! I alway wait w baited breath for the Net-a-Porter sale... Smile There's another shop called Oxygen Boutique that has really good sales too - Nanushka and Ganni 75% off - though most things are gone by now.

mommybunny · 30/12/2019 10:20

I was determined to wear something new to Xmas lunch and was delighted to discover a blouse in my size in a boutique just off Guildford high street that was originally £85 but 50% off. It was a beautiful rich red satin with a high neck and sheer long sleeves. It was by a label I’d never heard of before - Karen by Simonsen - which is a Danish brand. At that price I treated myself to another blouse by the same designer which I wore to Xmas eve drinks!

If you are familiar with and like Part Two you’ll love Karen by Simonsen - they’re owned by the same holding company. The designer I believe used to be part of Munthe, which is more expensive. I’ve only ever seen it in this one boutique but from their website it looks like you can get stuff shipped to the U.K.

Zinnia · 30/12/2019 11:39

Not sure how little-known they are, but I like the Scandi high street brands Selected Femme, Second Female, Just Female (all a bit similar..) and Samsoe & Samsoe. All have been/are stocked in John Lewis over the years, but Zalando has good selections of all of them plus their own websites ship to the UK.

Also British brand Paisie which is stocked (like the brands above) at Plümo but is cheaper direct from the designer.

Alwayscheerful · 30/12/2019 20:24

Ganni is new to me. Lovely silk dresses and shirts.

StandUpStraight · 30/12/2019 20:29

I came across Balzac (French responsible fashion brand) and I am coveting a couple of their handbags. en.balzac-paris.fr/
