Moisturiser on a budget

Hairyfairy01 · 28/12/2019 14:42

Currently my skin is a mess. Prone to the odd hormonal breakout, dry in places and generally blotchy. My skin care routine currently consists of slapping some very cheap tinted moisturiser on in the morning, and that’s literally it. I’m going to make more of an effort to drink water but can anyone recommend a half decent moisturiser that doesn’t cost the earth?

Nivea Soft by day and Nivea Blue Tin by night .

Aldi.

Do you remove your make up at night?.

suggestionsplease1 · 28/12/2019 14:47

Astral. It's been my skincare staple for years and I still get ID'd on occasion at the age of 40.

Aldi Caviar is £6.99 and I prefer it to many high end ones.

Microfibres cloths for face cleaning.

AwkwardSquad · 28/12/2019 14:54

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors, £6.75 for 100ml.

MimiCaeger · 28/12/2019 14:54

I use either nivea creme, astral or e45 moisturiser depending what’s on offer

Cerave cleanser and moisturiser together are a great combination. I would absolutely trust them to make a difference

Fluffymule · 28/12/2019 15:06

Another vote for Cerave. I use their cleanser and moisturiser, the ones with niacinamide, been using for over a year now and my skin has rarely been better.

Tinyandpetite · 28/12/2019 15:56

The garnier lavender one, my skin was dry from acne treatment- really sorted the dryness.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/12/2019 18:26

Really don't like CeraVe cleanser in fact it makes my skin drier but I'm impressed with the moisturiser.

Try products from Aveeno which is sometimes 1/3rd off at supermarkets or Boots etc.

Hairyfairy01 · 05/01/2020 09:28

Thanks all. I ended up going for nivea (As it was half price in Tesco). Using it every morning and nighttime and have already noticed a difference.

Hot cloth cleanser (I use superdrug) and cerave moisturiser.

JorisBonson · 05/01/2020 09:30

Another vote for The Ordinary. It has transformed my skin.

MaryBoBary · 05/01/2020 09:55

Sounds like I have the same skin issues as you OP. I just bought the boots q10 anti ageing serum and am getting on with it really well. I also got the eye cream from the same range. They were £4 each and on 3 for 2

Fridaysgirl · 05/01/2020 11:02

I'd seriously consider a moisturiser with SPF in it.
