Please guide me in finding something for 18 yo ds who is invited to a new years eve party "smart casual clubbing" dress code.
Would that be a blazer with t-shirt + chinos + trainers? Polo shirt with a bit of something of the night about it?
Can you point me in the direction of a decent blog or website so he doesn't get it badly wrong? He himself hasn't a clue and feels he can't ask anybody.

Can you not look at some of his friends or school mates pictures on Facebook or Instagram and see the type of thing they wear?Other than that I would look at Jack Jones or H&M and maybe ask the guys that work there?

"smart casual clubbing" could be almost anything! I'd interpret as 'not trackies, not black tie'
Either of the things you mention are fine.

Thanks. Good idea to stalk social media.

Did you look-what do you think you’ll get?I think what you suggested sounds fine.

Well we got him a new navy skinny blazer from Asos which he's wearing with an old black polo shirt and old greige chinos and new trainers. Fingers crossed he will blend in, he is not looking to stand out! Happy NYE everyone.

Better check there's not a 'no trainers' policy though OP.

Where is the event? Definitely check the trainers thing.
