I need to replace pretty much all of my tops

I've spent 7 years yoyoing up and down in weight due to first a stressful job, then a wedding and 2 pregnancies. I'm finally at a good weight, although aiming for another half stone off. I had a massive wardrobe clear out yesterday as I've been hanging onto the biggest pile of tat, some of it literally holey, 10 year old Primark, that kind of thing. I now have very little to wear as all the nicer stuff I had is too big. Jeans, coats and shoes are just about ok, but I have very few tops and jumpers especially. I would quite like more skirts and maybe dresses too as an alternative to jeans.

Where would you look if you needed the above? Anything good in the sales? I've had a look at a few shops online but lacking inspiration. I'm 35, 5'9", size 12. I work from home so don't need to look smart, but looking very scruffy all the time has been getting me down. I want to smarten up in 2020!

Congrats on your weight loss!

What's your budget? I find buying online very unsatisfying unless I have already seen the item in real life. I'd probably wait until the sales frenzy has died down a little bit then head to a department store or shopping centre to see some things IRL. With tops particularly I need to try them on to see if they do up over my boobs.

My favourite shops for tops and shirts are Cos, Zara, & Other Stories and Jigsaw.

For good quality basics I go to Boden and always get stuff from there in the sakes or look for 30% ( always around). They have blouses, shirts, jersey tops and t shirts which are very good quality. I'm still wearing their stuff from 2008! Each sale I get a few tops. I find them true to size ( I am 32E and a 10). I am short but tend not to buy petite tops but their regular size.

I did a search womens tops size 12 price low to high here and there are loads, all styles

Jigsaw sale online is good today I've just got 4 things. Also Hobbs but I tend to think of their tops as more smart eg for work

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I will take a look at them all. I think part of the problem is my mental budget is stuck on Primark/New Look pricing, but now that I'm a bit older I can afford to pay more for good quality clothes that will flatter me better and last - problem is I don't know what's going to be good quality or not. Good to hear that Boden is good quality. I definitely need quite a few basic tshirts.

@jeremypaxo I'm a terrible shopper irl. I have no patience for busy shops or for trawling through racks and nearly always have a 2 year old with me. I might try it once the holidays are over. Luckily boobs aren't really an issue for me, mine are average at most!

Gap 100% cotton tees. I prefer the v-neck and they do tall sizes which are great for the length.

Oh Gap is a good suggestion, thanks. I always forget it exists since they moved out of our local shopping centre. I can see some nice boat neck long sleeved tshirts. I think a boat neck looks quite flattering on me for some reason.
