Warm waterproof coat recommendations

I'm after a waterproof winter coat. Needs to be warm but not for hiking or anything, just 30 min each way school runs, occasional dog walking and walking to the shops etc. I like a mid thigh length black parka. Budget is £100, so I'm scouring the sales. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Didriksons Jacket? still over budget but mine has been going for years

Chocolateteabag · 26/12/2019 18:00

this one is a bit more padded

Boopear · 26/12/2019 18:03

Second didriksons. Mine kept me warm in an Icelandic winter. I loves it I do. And Blacks seems to have them on sale Grin.

Chocolateteabag · 26/12/2019 18:04

another Didrikson but via Ebay - better if you know your size though

AnotherEmma · 26/12/2019 18:04

Try Seasalt. Don't think they have black but several options for warm waterproof coats within budget.

Boopear · 26/12/2019 18:07

Oh, mine is Didriksons Veronica - looks like may be near your budget as well if you shop around.

Chocolateteabag · 26/12/2019 18:08

found this one in the Blacks sale under £100 I'll stop there before I end up buying a new one (I'm supposed to be looking at Ski Jackets)

PeanutButterIsOneWord · 26/12/2019 18:52

I love that last Didriksons jacket! And theres online discount so under 100. It's only in 10 or 16. I am a size 12. Do you find that they come up big, small or or just right? ... I really want it

Big! I'm a busty 14-16 IRL and a 12 was perfect. Good luck!

I've got a Jack Wolfskin jacket that's very similar to the first one, it's great for dog walking but smart enough for work once I've wiped the mud off it Grin

I wore it for a Christmas trip to Prague and was toasty warm with just a long sleeved t shirt underneath.

PeanutButterIsOneWord · 26/12/2019 21:29

Ah that jacket isnt waterproof. Like that sort of style though.

Will check out Jack Wolfskin, thanks!

Jack wolfskin iceguard. Mine is 5 years old, still warm and looking good.

User07 · 27/12/2019 07:56

I have the helly hensen arden parker which I got in the sale for £120.

Mumdiva99 · 27/12/2019 08:13

I got mine from Trespass for about £60 - I was replacing a much loved Musto parka that was alot more expensive.
My new one is very waterproof and warm. Not as good looking as a more expensive version but does the job on the school run. (Part of the DLX brand....but not the down filled one).

PeanutButterIsOneWord · 27/12/2019 12:06

Thank you for the recommendations everyone! I've just ordered a Didrickson parka in the blacks sale Grin
