Which is better? GHD or Cloud9 Straighteners

So!As the title says really..
I have some GHDs which are really old and I feel like they are pulling on my hair and making it even more dry/weak
My Partner got me a L'Oreal Steam Pod which I think is better for my hair but it is such a bloody pain to use..The bit with the water in is always tipping over and the wires tangle and then that also tips it over!!
So I am thinking of either buying some new GHDs or Cloud9 Straighteners and would like opinions on which is better.
Thank you

Cloud 9. Hands down.

BoxingDayRegret · 26/12/2019 16:57

I liked my cloud 9s but they lasted just beyond the year guarantee and then broke Hmm It was a common problem when I researched it! GHDs seem to have gone downhill. 15years ago they were absolutely amazing but the newer ones aren't!

Minta85 · 26/12/2019 23:25

I’ve had my first cloud 9s for a few months, and they are fine but no better than my GHDs were when I first got them (about 15 years ago!). I only swapped to cloud9s because my hairdresser happened to be selling them when I went in one day.

Having used both I'd say Cloud nine , mine are still going strong after 5 years . I feel like they give a smoother finish.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/12/2019 13:23

Kipozi wide plates off amazon. Better than my ghd’s were.

Cordial11 · 27/12/2019 13:25

I didn’t like my cloud 9s. Also didnt last much more than a year and were only used once a week!!!!!

Ifixbrokenthings · 27/12/2019 13:30

My GHDs are 11 or 12 years old. I love them. I've not tried the cloud 9s though but I've heard good things about them.

allthefood · 27/12/2019 13:51

Cloud 9's. The new ghd's are shite.

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 27/12/2019 16:06

I've 2 pairs of GHDs 1 pair is 12 years old and gets used probably every other month when I go away and the other pair is 5 years old and gets used nearly every day both pairs are still going strong. I got bought a pair of cloud nines just before I got the second pair of GHDs they lasted a couple of months and then broke so I swapped them for GHDs.

confusedandemployed · 27/12/2019 16:13

I've had GHDs previously and just got some Cloud 9s. TBH they seem pretty interchangeable.

ludders01 · 30/12/2019 19:44

I’ve had my GHD’s for about 20 years and I was beginning to wonder whether they had lost their initial “spark“ so to speak, having had them so long. Therefore on Cyber Monday I treated myself to some cloud 9’s as my hairdresser uses them on me but I have to say I am really disappointed and quite frankly gutted for spending the money. My old GHD’s work better than the new cloud 9’s! Was wondering whether I should try and sell them and buy some new GHD’s but from reading this forum it would appear that the new GHD’s are also rubbish! The Cloud 9’s are so rubbish that I was wondering if they were faulty. My hair is quite fine but lots of it so have to use the highest heat and it’s just drying my hair out and not really straightening it very well. Might phone Customer Services tomorrow and see what they suggest! Not holding out much hope!

Cloud 9s!

I've had them almost two years now. I previously had two pairs of ghds that lasted less than a year each.

The other good thing about Cloud 9s is that you can control the temperature.

EpcotForever · 30/12/2019 19:57

I have new ghds and they are awful. Cloud 9 in the future.

Henlie · 30/12/2019 20:03

I have a pair of Cloud 9s....bought over 6 years ago. Still going strong! I much prefer them to my GHD’s.

TurningLeaves · 30/12/2019 20:07

Converted from GHDs to Cloud 9s a couple of years ago. Love them!
