Mustaches... how do you manage yours?

Meggymoo777 · 26/12/2019 01:29

The title really... I'm 31, enjoy and wear make up every day. Thought when I had to start managing my nose hair things were bad!!! 😂 but I have a mustache issue I'll have to tackle next year. Not hugely prominent yet I don't think but the make up definitely is starting to show it up which is not a good sign 🙈

How to you ladies manage your mustaches!

Hair sensitive facial hair removal cream

Gingerninja01 · 26/12/2019 22:01

Nair not hair!

TowandaForever · 26/12/2019 22:03

@Meggymoo777

What do use for your nose hairs?

mynameiswah · 26/12/2019 22:05

For the past year I've been using this, which I got free from Boots on points: www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Precision-Trimmer-HP6390-10/dp/B00BN2CJDA?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Very easy to use, takes 5 seconds to trim down any hairs just before makeup. But I intend to buy the JML flawless one soon as it seems even easier.

thisenglishlife · 26/12/2019 22:06

Rubis tweezers are the best by the way, worth every penny. All other tweezers are crude in comparison.

Ninkanink · 26/12/2019 22:08

For the past year or so I’ve shaved it. However, I’ve now got a Lumea so I’m removing it with that and eventually I won’t have any left to remove.

LizB62A · 26/12/2019 22:11

My facial hair is white now so the only option I have it electrolysis (as someone mentioned above, it's very painful - I take painkillers and use EMLA cream).

If there had been anything like a Lumea around when my hairs were still dark, that's what I would have done !

threesecrets · 26/12/2019 22:36

Tweeze alongside with daily eyebrow tweezing (I'm hairy)

Meggymoo777 · 26/12/2019 23:06

@TowandaForever I honestly just use a little pair of safety scissors for nose hair, the kind for trimming babies nails! Totally open to suggestions about nose hair maintenance too though... presume there's fairly quick and easy trainer your can get too!

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 26/12/2019 23:07

I let it grow.

Meggymoo777 · 26/12/2019 23:10

@Tashtegotoo thanks so much for the link! 🙌🏻 Will have a look!

flawless touch: every morning, before I moisturise, quick whizoo, all done. No irritation.

AutumnRose1 · 27/12/2019 00:25

sammy doesn’t that leave stubble, so to speak?

notangelinajolie · 27/12/2019 00:26

Electrolosis 25 years ago. It's not grown back.

PlaymobilPirate · 27/12/2019 00:33

Is anyone else terrified at getting too old / unable to manage to detache? We're all going to be sat with beards in our dotage!

Boobahs · 27/12/2019 00:41

I use this on my nose hairs Blush

Yoffee Nose Wax Nasal Hair Removal with Natural Beeswax Formula. Safe, Quick and Painless 50g https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IDNM8E6/ref=cmswwrcppapip_ElKKdCFhTe24D

Tinyandpetite · 27/12/2019 02:23

I get mine threaded, it bloody hurts like hell. I do like how it looks.

whiskersonkittenss · 27/12/2019 23:11

@PlaymobilPirate I am under strict instruction from my mom to de-fuzz her if she's ever too infirm to do it herself. She'll do mine if I can't do it myself too Grin

Meggymoo777 · 28/12/2019 01:44

@Boobahs What?!? I commend your dedication to self care and maintenance! 🙌🏻 But seriously... is that basically wax on a QTip, heated, inserted in your nose and then pulled out? I can barely pluck 1 hair! I trim them because I'm such a wimp! How long does that last for you? If it was anything above 6 weeks I'd consider the eye watering pain! 😭

By the way, I'm incredibly thankful for the responses... never saw a mustache in my future! 🤪 It's nice to know I'm joining a club of mustacheod ladies and I'm grateful for the advice so I can explore things that will work for me long term. I actually posted on AIBU and the whole topic obviously defended into chaos and I don't know why! 😂 Thread was deleted!

OP posts:
Meggymoo777 · 28/12/2019 01:51

Yes! As @AutumnRose1 said, does that leave stubble @sammybins? A quick whiz seems like my type of solution as long as the hair doesn't come back thicker/darker. I wear make up most days too so any stubble/regrowth just looks worse 🙄

bobbinsblue · 28/12/2019 01:53

I saw the deleted thread, I was following with interest then it all got a bit weird. Did someone think you were a man?

I think the trick with the trimmer is to go with the grain so not stubbly.

Meggymoo777 · 28/12/2019 01:53

@whiskersonkittenss thanks so much, you gave me a laugh! I had noticed my mustache hairs for a while now but thought I was getting away with it... was my Mum finally pointed it out as obvious the last few days... don't you love family Christmases! 😂

OP posts:
Meggymoo777 · 28/12/2019 01:53

@whiskersonkittenss btw your username really fits the thread! 🤣

Meggymoo777 · 28/12/2019 02:00

@bobbinsblue I'm glad someone else saw the deleted thread! It was very strange? Didn't think I came across as a man or anything? Woke up next day and it was deleted?

Anyway, I did a few small patch tests yesterday with the dermoplaner, no irritation today, the areas on my face and upper lip actually feel lovely... I've a few more days of holidays so gonna plane the remaining hair on my upper lip 😩 Can I get a hand hold as I enter the era of facial hair maintenance for real and forever! 🤣
